important ideas for the tech world :D

Hey Reddit 👋

I’m Leon Tschudi, a tech and design enthusiast from Switzerland, and I’ve been thinking about two product ideas that surprisingly do not exist yet, but seem like no-brainer niche hits with global appeal. I’d love to hear your feedback or connect with people interested in building something like this.

🚀 1. The Ultimate Street-Legal Dual-Motor Electric Scooter (Switzerland/EU/Global)

After researching the market extensively, I found that no e-scooter in the world combines the following features while remaining street-legal in countries like Switzerland (limit: 20 km/h, 500–1000 W):

  • ✅ Dual-motor drivetrain
  • ✅ Hydraulic suspension (front + rear)
  • ✅ Hydraulic disc brakes
  • Powerful electric horn (not a weak beep)
  • ✅ Color touchscreen with on-device music control
  • ✅ Bluetooth/Wi-Fi + optional app link
  • Blinkers:
    • in rubberized handlebar ends
    • left & right on rear fender
  • Ambient LED lighting
  • ✅ Foldable with a secure, locked mechanism (easy to carry)
  • ✅ High-quality build & materials

It’s essentially the Segway GT3 – if it were legal, lighter, had integrated music control, better blinkers and a safer folding design.

So far, no existing scooter offers this combination – not even expensive ones. This could be a hit with urban professionals and design-focused commuters willing to pay premium for safety, style, and smart tech.

💻 2. A Modern MacBook in the Iconic 17” A1261 Chassis

Remember the last big MacBook? The 17" A1261? Let’s revive it – but reimagined for 2025:

  • ✅ Based on the original Apple A1261 (17") chassis – same proportions, but modernized
  • ✅ Uses M7 or latest Apple Silicon
  • ✅ Built-in Touch Bar
  • Removable battery compartment (like the old models!)
  • ✅ Full-size SD + microSD slots
  • ✅ USB-C / Thunderbolt 5
  • ✅ MacOS-compatible, obviously
  • ✅ Silent cooling, modular back panel, and ports that matter

This would be a dream machine for mobile creatives – photographers, editors, audio producers – who miss screen space, ports, and power in one clean body.

🤝 Why I’m Posting This

I don’t have a factory – just vision, market awareness, and design obsession. If any engineers, product managers, startup folks, or manufacturers out there feel inspired or want to brainstorm: I’d love to talk.

Also curious what the community thinks: - Would you buy either of these? - Which features do you care about most? - Have you seen anything remotely close?

Thanks for reading!
