I managed to get Big Sur running on my Ryzen PC with following specs -
I followed the Dortania guide to create the USB installer and included all AMD patches as suggested. I also included NootedRed kext to enable my 5700G's iGPU. I also made the following changes in my BIOS - What’s working -
What’s NOT working -
Other Issues found so far -
I am yet to try out other aspects/functionalities of MacOS as I want to fix the GPU issue before that. Here is my config.plist file. Any leads/help on these issues would be great! Thanks! [link] [comments] |

i'll be doing a fresh install of macos ventura on to a different SSD (but remaining with the same system). i'm currently running catalina. i have previously mapped my usb for this system already. if i want to preserve these mappings which files do i need to copy over to the install USB?
Since upgrading to Monterey I've been experiencing painfully slow boots on my Hackintosh. I consider myself to be a novice when it comes to debugging issues like that.
I Would love it if some of you would be willing to take a peek at my boot log in hopes that it points me in the direction of what possibly could be causing the issue. Any feedback would be appreciated.
For context, here are my HW specs.

Hello Reddit community, I am currently seeking guidance regarding the feasibility of installing Hackintosh on an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U CPU, specifically within an Honor laptop . I understand that installing Hackintosh on AMD APUs can be challenging, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights from those who have successfully accomplished this task. It is worth mentioning that I am using an Honor laptop, which comes with an Honor BIOS. I understand that BIOS compatibility is crucial for a successful Hackintosh installation Thank you in advance for your support and contributions. I look forward to hearing from the community and benefiting from your expertise. [link] [comments] |
Hey, so I have a HP ProBook 430 G3
i5-6200u 2.3GHz 16GB Dual Channel 798MHz Intel HD 520 With 8GB shared video memory And of course right now windows 10. So my question is can I install macOS? If yes than whats the best one for me? And will I be able to game on it? And will my performance drop hard or it will stay the same? I really love MacOS design and I really want to install it if possible. Thanks for all the help!

I am using debug mode and prebuilds just to get proof of concept, going to reconfigure and make custom files next. I need to tweak usb settings, dial in gpu, and upgrade to newer os.
everything is pretty much working out of the box. i haven't tested bluetooth, but headphones audio, screen display, and usb is working.
This is a really fun build process, great community, and just enough hacking pain and puzzles to make for an awesome project!
Took about 3 days of tinkering.
Good luck out there!
Ran into issues with- - usb stick not being in usb2.x port - slowly but surely collected feedback with log files and found direct documentation OC fixes for common problems, or no problems finding in the community. (Look for the Err at the end of the log and then google it with your motherboard) - I was lucky enough to have a decent architecture for this build (Z370), I have been wanting to do this project and took advantage of cheap Radeon card prices. - When I do a rebuild i will document all the quirks i had, but almost every issue was either bios, or a config.plist edit. - Make sure you update your BIOS on mobo, and use a usb stick to download the newest (v. 3005 on may 25 2023). Do not trust the built in bios updater, mine told me i was up to date with an old bios, and i lost a day of troubleshooting thinking i have the newest version.
Truly pumped about this, thanks again yall
Everything that was needed to boot works and overall runs wonderfully, the only thing that i can't figure out how to get working is the audio for the system. I've tried all the layout ids with applealc that i believe my laptop has. Could someone possibly help me out with this?
I select the recovery dmg and It is going to the support.apple.com/mac/startup screen does this indicate that I have missed a bios setting? I am trying to boot into ventura on an i7-4770 with hd 4600 graphics. or Do I need an amd gpu?

I had to create Catalina bootable drive and then upgrade from Catalina to Ventura with updating kexts in efi.
i tried to create bootable drive with Ventura but for some reason it did not see by my laptop.
Hey, I want to install macOS on my pc on a 128gb ssd that I don't have a use for. I have a 500gb nvme that I was planning on using for shared space between macOS and Windows. Is 128gb enough to just get the base system installed?
I installed Big Sur open core (3580 Inspiron)…dell Inspiron i5 8th generation.whiskey lake .graphics 620 UHD…..etc…but only keyboard and trackpad not work.please any solutions ?
So I've been trying to reinstall MacOs Big Sur into an Acer Extensa 2540 and when getting to the picker, it does not display anything at all. The inputs seem to be working but the display is completely dark. I've tried to unplug and replug the hdmi, and turning the display on and off, but the screen just stays black
The system specs are:
Intel i3-6006U @ 2.00GHz
12 GBs of SODIMM Ram
I don't know the motherboard model due to it being a laptop, unfortunately.
And in any case, it worked before a few OpenCore versions ago, around 0.7.8 if I recall correctly but currently doesn't work at all.
And important note: I am not using the integrated display. I removed it long ago so I use an external HDMI display instead.
The log file is here in case it's needed (latest boot)
here's the plist as well
