Catalina(10.15.5), Opencore(5.8), Dell Inspiron 5447, SLEEP & Trackpad/keyboard?

Hardware:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4210U
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400
  • RAM: 8gb DDR3
  • Motherboard/Laptop model: Dell Inspiron 5447
  • Audio Codec: ALC255/ALC3234
  • Ethernet Card: Realtek Ethernet
  • Wifi/BT Card: BCM94360NG
  • What guide/tool followed: https://dortania.github.io/vanilla-laptop-guide/
  • What part I got an issue with: Trackpad and keyboard don't work after waking from sleep
  • What files/config I am using: Here is my EFI folder minus SMBIOS info
  • Extra Info: Everything works except this one issue with the sleep. After the laptop goes to sleep, it doesn't seem to wake from keyboard or trackpad, so I push the power button. After it wakes from sleep, the trackpad and keyboard don't work. Has anyone had this problem before? It would be super to be able to walk away from the laptop instead of turning it off.

USB Mapping help

USB Mapping help

Hey hackers,

Post-install troubleshooting my fully functional Hac (except for sidecar) - OC 0.5.8 - Catalina 10.15.5 with smbios MacPro 7,1.

Want to finalize this build with USB mapping. After going through the guide- I have done the following:

  • USBInjectAll under both EFI/OC/Kexts and config.plist -> Kernel -> Add
  • config.plist -> Kernel -> Quirks -> XhciPortLimit -> True
  • config.plist -> ACPI -> Patch -> EHCI and XHCI ACPI renames (did not do due to MacPro7,1)
  • identified the following usb ports through Hackintool and attaching usb 2.0 and 3.0 devices.
    • Is it possible I'm missing some USBs? And by this I mean, is there a chance even with plugging in usb into all known ports that I am still not identifying some internal ones (i.e. like the wifi and aura ones?)

Is it possible to upgrade from 10.15.4 to 10.15.5 with a 5700XT/Navi?

I'm running into what seems to a known issue of a crash on the second restart of the 10.15.4 to 10.15.5 upgrade. I'm using a 5700XT as my main card and I'm not using RadeonBoost.kext

My Specs are:

Intel i9600k Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Gigabyte Titan Ridge Thunderbolt Card MSI Gaming X 5700XT Opencore 0.58

I've seen threads where people run into the same issues as me: https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/gte9va/cannot_update_to_macos_10155/

I've also seen at least one comment of someone with a 5700XT upgrading without issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/grk8nx/macos_10155_fully_works_update_went_flawlessly/frzr9uu/

Apparently this is a fairly well known issue but it definitely took me a bit of searching to find even that one failure post.

So is it possible to upgrade at all? Am I missing something obvious?

Is Asus raid nvme card supported by Catalina?

Hi, I would like to try this raid card on an Asus z370 prime a II with Intel i7-8700. Is it something like this supported? HYPER M.2 X16 CARD V2

It has specific bios entries, but the os will access the drive?

I use opencore.

Thank you

Vanilla/Open-Core guide for Z390 Designare?

I'm getting ready to build a hackintosh with this motherboard. While the tonymacx86 guides are quite comprehensive, I'm wondering if a cleaner vanilla guide exists anywhere else? The tonymac stuff uses quite a bit of their custom tooling and patched files and it's a lot to sift through...

VDA on RX580

I just discovered my computer has a problem. When using boot-arg "shikigva = 128 and shiki-id = Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94" to turn on acceleration for vga rx580, the GB5 score is 31k. While not using the other two boot-args, the GB5 score is 46k, and of course it will lose acceleration.

How should I handle this problem? if you can turn on full acceleration and the GB5 score is not too much difference (up to more than 10k points), it is still great.

I’m using SMBIOS iMac19,1 | i5-9400F | RX 580 | b365m asrock pg4

My first try with OC Hackintosh...

My first try with OC Hackintosh...

Hello.

I have 2+ years experience with Hackintosh, having built one using Clover. After the Mojave update and loss of support for NVIDIA graphics I put the project on hiatus for 1 year.

After finding this Reddit and Open Core I decided to start from scratch.

I followed the instructions from the Vanilla OC Desktop Guide
The EFI Partition on my install USB thumbdrive looks like this:

https://preview.redd.it/rolzu3n7y6251.png?width=305&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb0367237def08cd2e787efa80557cd4211622f6

When I start the installation from the USB thumbdrive this shows up:

https://preview.redd.it/94mqfox9y6251.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=791c3b335fc048f30792182e696becd2d765626b

Then this:

https://preview.redd.it/syiec1say6251.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=335d6be64906b92159bc5f3649ab1eb92428bce9

And the process stops right there. Anyone else has had this problem? Is there a file I am missing in my EFI/OC folders?

My machine's specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 6500 @ 3.20GHz (Skylake)
RAM: 16.0GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z170X-Gaming 5
Graphics: 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (soon to be replaced by a 8GB Radeon RX580)

Thanks in advance.

And, apologies if this post falls outside rules.

X99 Success with Mojave, failure installing Catalina

Hardware/Software used:

  • Asrock Fatality X99m Killer motherboard
  • Intel® Core™ i7-5820K CPU
  • Sapphire Pulse RX580 8GB GPU
  • Samsung EVO 850 SSD 250GB
  • Samsung S24B150 1080p LCD Display
  • Opencore 0.5.8 bootloader.
  • P3.50 BIOS

Initially, I tried installing Catalina(10.15.4) on the above system, but could never get it to install. I had trouble with the initial install because it would hang in the middle of the apple logo while loading the installer, then once it finally loaded neither of the ethernet interfaces would come up. Once i forced an interface to come up and got the first part of the OS installed, the second part would hang on the Country picker( you could scroll through the list of Countries but could not select continue).

After giving up on Catalina I tried installing Mojave, and had the exact opposite experience. It just installed and ran without any issues. I installed several programs, and they all ran fine, watched youtube videos without any problem. I'm very happy with the Mojave install.

Four days later I boot MacOS and it fails with the Prohibited symbol on the screen. Several reboots all withe the same results. I boot with the installer USB, run disk utility to check the disk and it comes up clean. I reinstalled via TimeMachine and everything is working again.

I guess time will tell whether or not this disk failure will be a recurring theme.

One odd thing I've noticed is that my boot device list in my UEFI BIOS/Firmware keeps growing. Everytime I reboot, a new copy of partition 1 of the MacOS disk is added to the boot device list.

Any comments or advice are welcome. Thank you.

Random glitches and lag

Hello,

This seems to be a persistent issue for quite some time, and I assume it's something ACPI related but I haven't been able to isolate the issue. Symptoms appear randomly from time to time (i.e. once every couple of minutes) and include:

- Mouse suddenly moving faster and without any precision

- Audio drops or artifacts (I have an USB audio card)

- In rare cases, very small video glitches

System Specs:

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H
  • CPU: Intel i7 4770k
  • GPU: Radeon RX580

The config, ACPI and everything else can be found here: https://github.com/adrianlungu/OpenCore-GA-H87-D3H

Any idea what could cause issues like these ?

Opencore 10.15.4 installer auto updating to 10.15.5??

Hi,

I had a fully working hackintosh-

Specs:

Opencore Catalina 10.15.4

  • CPU: i3 8100
  • GPU: UHD 630
  • RAM: 8gb 2666 DDR4 Ram
  • Motherboard: B360 WIFI Gigabyte

Me being silly i accidentally updated to 10.15.5 as soon as it came out (yeah i know i'm a noob) and as expected it broke and stopped working.

So i decided to reinstall back to 10.15.4 with what i knew was a 100% working USB to install it on but for some reason it didnt work.

After days of pulling my hair out installing countless different versions changing kexts etc i finally got the system booted without UHD 630 (running at 7mb) i checked the version and it's 10.15.5 so for some reason it is auto updating to the latest version even though im using a 10.15.4 install. Is there a way around this i am very new to hackintoshing but even after countless hours of research i still cant find the solution.

Hoping someone can help me out on this one it's driving my crazy.

Thanks in advance!

New build for my hackintosh

Hi! I'm going to build my first hackintosh for rendering and graphics in general (blender, keyshot, Adobe pack etc.), I was thinking of Windows dual boot with different ssd. My first option was a Ryzen 5/7 3000 series but I read that cpu and problems with Adobe Pack, so Intel, specifically i7 9700k or 9600k, is the best compromise for me. I ask for the maximum possible stability (ok stability is in relation to the kexts that I inject, but I'm looking for a consolidated build :)) and I'm open to other configurations with other CPUs. The budget is 500€ max 700€ without considering psu, case, monitor and for now gpu (I was thinking of rx 580 8gb). My current configuration is i5 4590, h97m and r9 280x, I tried to create a hackintosh but it was full of problems, I spent 4 days trying to solve many problems but nothing, the bios of h97m is strange there is not everything is need to continue (tips?) and maybe it's not entirely incompatible, so I let it go. That's all! Ah sorry for my bad english!

Help! Black Screen trying to install Catalina with OpenCore

So I decided to get into Hackintoshing now since I have so much space time on my hands due to the current pandemic, plus I kinda want to see how it feels like to code on mac.

However, I was trying to install MacOS with opencore, but I kept getting a black screen after this line of text: IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0

From what I understand it seems to be an issue with the gpu(?)

Specs:

- Aorus z390 Pro Wifi

- i7-9700K

- RTX 2070 Super (Using iGpu when booting to MacOS

Kexts:

- AppleALC.kext

- IntelMasui.Kext

- Lilu.kext

- SMCProcessor.Kext

- SMCSuperIO.Kext

- USBInjectAll.Kext

- VirtualSMC.Kext

- WhateverGreen.Kext

SSDTs:

- SSDT-AWAC.aml

- SSDT-GPU-DISABLE.aml

- SSDT-PLUG.aml

- SSDT-PMC.aml

- SSDT-USBX.aml

What I have Tried:

- Setting iGPU as default GPU

- adding agdpmod=pikera to launch settings

- plugging another monitor into my motherboard

Here's a [link]( https://github.com/BackToReal1ty/OpenCore-Aorus-z390- ) to my config.plist, kexts, and SSDTs

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unable to boot or update to 10.15.5

Has 10.15.5 broke anything crucial? I had a stable and fully working system on 10.15.4, updated all kexts and Clover before installing the latest update. I couldn't get my system to boot, luckily I had a USB installer on 10.15.1 so I was able to rollback, then tried applying the combo update and same scenario. If I select the update partition in Clover the computer restarts right after showing the loading bar. I have tried booting in verbose + debug=0x100 to get an idea of what's causing it, but it still reboots and I don't see any KP information. Any ideas? Thanks

Update to Catalina 10.15.5 broke my onboard graphic (black screen) / I5 9600K / Gigabyte Z390M

Update to Catalina 10.15.5 broke my onboard graphic (black screen) / I5 9600K / Gigabyte Z390M

Hello,

I recently built a working Hackintosh, I had a lot of help from the german Hackintosh Forum. It was really a bit fricky with the graphics. However, it worked perfectly, until now for the update to 10.15.5. Unfortunately, I now get a black screen. It does not matter whether HDMI, DVI or DP. Currently I use DP.

My hardware:

  • Gigabyte Z390M Motherboard
  • Intel I5 9600K CPU
  • Intel UHD 630 with device id: 0x3E98

Bootloader is OpenCore 0.5.8 with WhateverGreen, Lilu, VirtualSMC ... (It's all up to date.)

My current working OC config within 10.15.4:

OC Config 10.15.4

My bios settings: https://www.hackintosh-forum.de/forum/thread/47969-intel-uhd-graphics-630-7-mb-2-monitore/?postID=593977#post593977 ("Eingeschaltet" is "ON"; "Ausgeschaltet" is "OFF")

This issue seems related: https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/938
But for example https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/938#issuecomment-636070348 doesnt work for me.

May someone have an idea? Thanks in advance

Clover to OpenCore on my accidental buy of Dell Optiplex 9020 USFF instead of SFF

Clover to OpenCore on my accidental buy of Dell Optiplex 9020 USFF instead of SFF

Supposed to buy a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF (As advertised) for my homelab cluster. When I went down to collect the item, it was an USFF (Specs were also wrong). I didn't confront the seller as I got it for less than 100USD. I brought it home and thinking what to do with it. Decided to install Hackintosh since I have sold off my 2014 MBP last year.

Took me a week to setup clover in Jan and it was pretty stable. Decided to go OpenCore after reading this sub. I would say it was rather complicated for initial start. Many stuffs to read, but it's good as you understand what you trying to configure. Took me 3 days to finish reading and redo my hackintosh. I would say I enjoyed it. Thanks for the detailed explanation at dortania GitHub and this sub for driving me to use OpenCore.

Specs

  • i5-4590T
  • 16GB Memory
  • Intel Graphics HD 4600
  • Plextor 256GB SSD
  • BCM94360HMB for Bluetooth and Wifi (Continuity, AirDrop, Wifi) working perfectly. $30USD+ from eBay

Designaire z390 Clover to OC dual boot error

So I changed the clover setup to OC as OC seems to be better but the problem I'm running into now is really weird. When I'm at the picker screen and I choose windows it gives me a BSOD error with 0x0000000d and says PC/Device needs to be repaired. If i unplug the osx ssd and let it boot it, it boots into windows just fine. Not sure what the issue is. Any ideas? My EFI is here: https://github.com/nyichiban/EFI
