![]() | Just updated to the latest macOS via OCLP. Works like a charm. No issues to state so far. Runs great on this 2012 quad-core machine. 13 years old and still trekking strong. Thanks OCLP community. [link] [comments] |
![]() | Hi everyone, My Radeon Pro 580 8GB stays at 95–100% VRAM usage most of the time. This happens even when I'm not doing anything GPU-intensive. I usually have Arc and Slack open, along with some other regular apps, and nothing too heavy is running. Still, VRAM stays maxed out, and I often experience lag and stuttering, especially during video calls while screen sharing. Closing apps helps reduce usage slightly, but it never drops below 50%, which seems abnormal. On my MacBook Pro 2019 (Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB), running the same setup and apps, VRAM usage stays around 20% or less. Apps like Arc, Chrome, and other Electron-based apps seem to be the biggest contributors to the high VRAM usage. Has anyone experienced something similar with Sequoia and OCLP on AMD GPUs? Any tips or insight would be greatly appreciated. 🙏 [link] [comments] |
![]() | A double thumbs up for this release. My MacBook graphics returned to normal speed after this update. Performance overall is great and prevented me from throwing the MacBook against a wall! A job well done - Thanks to all [link] [comments] |
![]() | Hi. I installed Ventura on a late 2012 21' iMac. Everything seems to be fine, maybe just a few slight slowdowns every now and then. However, I saw that in my shared folder (where I have some documents shared with a second account) these 4 opencore files (attached photo). I don't know what they are: can you tell me more and if I can delete them? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
I have one EFI (built by me) with working most stuff but sound, bluetooth, card reader doesn't work althrough I added required kexts and the second EFI (from web) which is older but has these three things working but it's buggy. Can someone help me to merge things from these to my EFI
![]() | Got it for free! It did not boot, only with the Questionmark folder. And now the main question is, which MacOS should i install? And which runs best on a machine like this? [link] [comments] |
![]() | Full warning translated: “Images cannot be initialised. This usually happens when running in an unsupported virtual machine environment or when running on an unsupported Mac.” I have gotten Garageband from another Reddit post with all comments saying that it worked perfectly fine so I wanted to try it out on my iMac mid 2011 with Monterey. (They also used OCLP) Before the warning comes up, I’m able to play a note, so it should work. What is going on and how can I fix this? [link] [comments] |
![]() | Hey all, I’m running macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 on an iMac 27" (2017) using OCLP. Everything works fine, but I’ve noticed something odd with GPU memory usage. My Radeon Pro 580 8GB often sits at 95–100% VRAM usage, even when I’m only running apps like Arc, Slack, Chrome, and VSCode. I tried closing them one by one, and while usage drops slightly, it never really goes below 4 GB, even when idle. It sometimes causes stuttering and lag, especially during video calls and screen sharing, which doesn’t happen on my MacBook Pro 2019 (i9 + Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB) running the same Sequoia version with the same apps and VRAM there rarely exceeds 20%. Is this expected behavior on Sequoia with AMD GPUs (especially via OCLP), or is something off? Appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or shared experiences 🙏 [link] [comments] |
How easy is it to revert back to Mojave after installing opencore legacy patcher on a seperate hard drive? Is it literally just swapping out the hard drives or do I have to uninstall anything? I just want to be able to go back to it if I need to use some old software?
i am using OCLP on my macbook 15 2018, i can't have SIP turned off.
checking OCLP github every hour for 2.4.0
![]() | I need some help. I downloaded open core legacy for a 2017 MacBook Pro. I got the point of installing it where it is supposed to boot on its own 4 times. I keep getting stuck on this screen and have to go through the process all over again. What am I doing wrong? Just keeps going to this screen. When I click install macOS sequoia it acts like it’s going to work and just ends up back at this screen again. I chose to delete my existing hard drive so I can’t even go back to my old Operating system. [link] [comments] |

Hey guys! I recently upgraded from ventura to sequoia on my mac pro 5.1(4.1). Everything seems to be fine, but stopped loading any pages in Safari and won't open the app store. I'd like to know if anyone has experienced this. And what to do?! Thank you in advance!)
![]() | I have a 2012 Mac, currently running on Catalina 10.15.7. I had a lot of trouble setting it up previously, as it came from a school and took me about 2 days to get working (I can't really remember what I did as this was about 4 years ago). The only local disk I can see OpenCore finding is this External drive which I'm concerned about - is there any way to find out if this will cause any issues or does it look like it's okay to proceed with? If it's best to hold off, what's the best next step? I'm new to a lot of this, so any ELI5's would be greatly appreciated [link] [comments] |
I am having an issue trying to install Sequoia on an external SSD connected to a 2014 iMac. When going through the install process, the iMac reboots and instead of continuing the installation, the internal drive boots up. Is there anyway to prevent this?
Hello everyone! I'm trying to get macOS Monterey on my ASUS TUF GAMING laptop (Intel Core i5-10300H @ 2.50GHz, 12GB of RAM, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 (4GB) and Intel UHD Graphics (128 MB). I think I get past verbose and the screen goes black after so I'm not sure what to do. I will include my .plist file and log :) ty everyone opencore shit (plist and logs)
Until now my Macbook Pro 15" mid 2015 was my production machine (2.8 GHz i7 (Dual Graphics) 16GB / 1TB). Monterey was the last possible OS without patch.
I will get a new Mac Mini today and want to upgrade my old MBP a step beyond Monterey so that I can use the same apps as on Sequoia on my Mac Mini. Would Ventura be enough? Or should I go with Sonoma? Or even Sequoia?
I read contradictory things here:
Basically I have just a few concerns:
What would be your advise? Tips?
Thanks in advance for your time!

Hello everyone, this issue on my MacBook Air 2017 isn't bothering me much. Still, the fan is louder and faster than usual, which is also causing my laptop to heat up, and this has started after one week since installing Sequoia with OCLP. Just curious, about anything I can try to lower the temperature of my Mac or slow the fan. - Any help would be appreciated
Hello,
Hope everyone is having an awesome day.
I just installed Sequoia on my 2017 MacBook Pro. With Touchbar. 14,3

Anyone having the same issue that know how to fix it?
Thank you again!!
I have seqouia 15.4.1 on this 2017 mbp and it wont load anything for icloud devices, it wont open photobooth, cant log out of my apple id without a loading bar for 20 years , photos app wont open , all of this worked fine originally when i installed it so this is odd im about to reinstall the os but before i do what do you guys think i should try?
I'm not sure if this is an opencore question specifically, but hopefully someone here can help. I've got a 5,1 with a fenvi t919 bt/wifi card, running sonoma 14.7.5 and windows 11. Bluetooth works perfectly fine, but I'm having an issue with my bt headphones. They connect with no issues, and I've got the key copied to windows so it connects to both operating systems. The issue is, after about a week or some random length of time, the headphones will not connect to sonoma. They show in the bluetooth menu bar, I can click connect, and it will briefly say connected, but they don't show up in audio options and then just disconnect. Has anyone else had this issue? Like I mentioned I'm not sure if it's an opencore issue, a sonoma issue, or maybe it's just the headphones. My magic keyboard and trackpad stay connected no matter what, so I'm not really sure. Thanks
i’m planning on getting a MacBookPro4,1 for its design and ability to patch as a secondary MacBook and what do you think this MacBook can run with its specs?
1TB (SATA SSD) + 500GB (SATA HDD instead of optical)
6GB DDR2 667MHz
Core 2 Duo T9300
no battery (works when plugged in)
Max officially supported OS: OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) but fuck that
15.4” display
what can this puppy run?
![]() | Howdy folks, I have been running Sonoma on OCLP on my Mac Mini 2012 for months now just fine. I installed the latest updates to try to get additional security, I think that was 14.7.5 IRCC it was something like 12 GB so it may have been a while. I keep hanging at the same 1/3 progress bar load point with the same user account as before that had functioned. I have tried 1 - Holding shift as it boots to try to enter safe mode (doesnt seem to do anything.) 2 - Holding "option" as it boots selecting EFI boot, then holding space bar, holding CTRL to get a circle on "restore" 3 Running First aid on disk, both the macOS install and the main SSD. 4 Restart (hangs at same point) 5 Reset NRAM/PRAM from menu entery as above - hangs at same point 6 Reinstall Sonoma - hangs at same point. REALLY hoping theres a way to fix without a full delete reinstall from a flash drive. Any tips? [link] [comments] |

Hello there! I've been using Hackintosh on my PC for a while now, but on Windows, a game didn't work properly because my BIOS version was outdated. I've decided to update the BIOS, and that fixed my issue. BUT I use Hackintosh for work, and today I wanted to boot it up, but it looks like it got wrecked. I thought maybe by updating my BIOS settings were set back to default, so I checked them, but they weren't. I set it back to defaults manually and changed the settings which are need to be changed, but that didn't fix my issue either. What could be the case? Should I roll back the BIOS version because, of course, I'm prioritizing my work over a game? Specs: [link] [comments] |
