I have OpenCore-Patcher in the login items list set to trigger at start (MacBook Pro 14,3, with Sonoma 14.4.1)
Do I have to keep it ON or can I remove from starting?

This is my first time attempting anything with building a hackintosh. I was following this github repo to use on one of my old t460s laptops. https://github.com/simprecicchiani/ThinkPad-T460s-macOS-OpenCore

The only difference with my t460s is I have a 1440 LCD and no touch. I can get into and past OC fine, but when the apple logo appears and the loading bar gets maybe 15% done, system reboots for Sonoma.

From Hardware Compatibility in the github Readme:

2. 1440p displays should change NVRAM -> Add -> 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 -> UIScale:2 to get proper scaling while booting. 

However, I'm uncertain if this is correct? Opening the plist in OCAT I get a warning for another error. But I do not see UIScale where it is described. I tried adding, did not make a difference. Pic of OCAT: https://i.imgur.com/onrFfkL.png

OCAT also throws this error after loading the plist:

UEFI->Output->InitialMode is illegal (Can only be Auto, Text, or Graphics)! CheckUefi returns 1 error! 

Which I have also tried setting to 'Auto' with and without UIScale added and set to '2' under NVRAM 7C43.....C9F82 did not change anything either way, still rebooting when the loading bar on the apple logo gets maybe 15% or so.

Attempted to use Ventura, which boots into MacOS recovery without any issues. Since the wifi isn't working, I tried to apply the Ventura installer dmg image to my nvme, which applies without any issues. However I cannot boot at all. Acting like there's no EFI boot on the drive, doesn't attempt anything. Not sure if this is just some issue with the way I am installing or something else. Will mess with it more today.

I'm new to this, so I don't really know fully what I am doing. Just thought I would post this here if anything to relay some issues I have had and maybe someone down the line may find this information useful for reasons.

Running OC 0.9.9 tried with Sonoma and Ventura. Laptop is a t460s same specs as the readme, but non-touch and 1440p LCD. Have verified all bios settings match the settings described in the readme.

I did a fresh install when installing

so basically

ive tried 3 times installing Sonoma

once installing ventura

AND IAM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE

my Mac freezes

I force restart it and guess what, doesn't turn on and freezes during boot

i have a windows laptop with 13th gen intel and im trying to run a macos sonoma VM, i followed a few diffrent guides but i allways get this error in virtualbox, is there any way to make it work? i litterally just need to DFU restore an M1 macbook

I'm on a MBAir 13" early 15 running Yosemite Using latest OC patcher downloaded yesterday. Want to get to Sonoma, via Monterey (2 consecutive upgrades - already did this on a 2012 MB Pro)

When running the OC patcher it can't download installers. It says: "Error - Failed to download installer Catalog from Apple". That's annoying but I found 2 ways to get around it; 1) Download an installer manually (ic found Monterey on mrmacintosch.com) and present that one to the OC patcher, and 2) make a Monterey bootable disk with OC patcher on my already upgraded MB Pro.

(Side note; this 2nd option may not be perfect because the USB is then not really created to upgrade the Mac on which it was made. But OK...)

It doesn't matter which method I use; when I boot from USB I do not get the expected screen! What I should get is a screen like at 4:39 of this YT video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8djeFJ1czU. But what I get instead is a language selection screen!

As if Monterey will just be installed anew, without keeping existing user environment!

I'm scared to continue now as I absolutely do not want to lose my current user environment on that MBAir.

Anyone got any tips? Been in the same situation?

I have a hackintosh running on a laptop I wouldn’t exactly call powerful and was wondering if there was a way to speed it up on Mac OS 11?

I’m trying to build a Hackintosh via Proxmox with GPU pass through, but can’t get my RX 6950 XT spoofed to a RX 6900 (XT) which is supported by macOS. I was wondering if anyone can help be with this problem or process. I would greatly appreciate it as I want it to work. It’ll work normally, but I want it in a VM so I can switch between all of my operating systems easily.

I was running Ventura on a Mac Mini 2012 A1347 and today it mysteriously disappeared from the OpenCore boot picker.

Everything on Ventura was very smooth the first two days I had it, but today I turned it on and it was extremely slow: the menu bar and dock took a while to load, opening the control center or WiFi menu caused the menu bar to hang and show a beachball, the OpenCore app just jumped for a while and took forever to open, and even popups like restarting took a while to show.

I set it to restart and left to go do something, when I came back, it was in a weird open core text boot picker and when I restarted again there was no Ventura option in OpenCore.

It is strange that OpenCore still boots from my drive, but it doesn’t see Ventura. I think the install must have gotten corrupted somehow.

There was nothing important on that install, and so I will likely just reinstall Ventura.

My question for you is: have you seen anything like this before, and is there any way you know of to prevent something like this in the future.

Once you patch and everything is stable, how to enable SIP fully?

I know I am very late to create hackintosh build while two or three years left of support.

but Mac mini M* does not support dual boot, and I need to have Windows as well.

So I think I will have about 4 years, before apps need newer ver of Mac OS that no longer support intel.

I am very new to this, so please bear them.

I just want to find out which motherboard ( with ddr5 support) and AMD GPU ( around 150$) to go with i5 13500 or i7 13700.

Just installed Ventura on my mac pro 3,1 and it works great, aside from sleep and bluetooth. Bluetooth is an easy fix, but I'm having trouble with sleep. I've spent the weekend trying to figure it out.

Specs:

2x3.0 GHz quad core xeon

16 GB 800 MHz RAM

GTX 680 Mac Flashed

27 inch LED Cinema display

Here's what I have on the issue:

When I press sleep, the display shuts off, and everything looks like it's going to work. The pulsing LED comes on on the computer. About 1-5 seconds later, I hear the hard drives spin back up, the optical drives make a noise, and the light stops pulsing. Eventually it goes back to pulsing, but wakes up again. The display never comes on.

Wake reason: UHC3

I've determined that this is related to USB 1.1, and I'm 99% sure it has something to do with bluetooth. IORegistryExplorer reports that UHC3 is PCI Device ID: 0x268a. Additionally, in Catalina, bluetooth shows up in system information under the same hex.

I've removed my bluetooth card and reinstalled, but system information still shows address: NULL, chipset as BCM_4350C2, and transport as USB, even with the card disconnected. Catalina shows nothing on the other hand. That's why I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with bluetooth. I've even removed my wifi card just in case.

What am I missing? What other device could be preventing my mac from sleeping?

Hi, I am curious if some of you have experienced the same I did recently. I went to one of the big hackintosh guides/forums to get help with an advanced issue. The owner/admin of the site immediately offered me to help via remote connection, him connecting remotely to my computer. Of course I declined, as I can hear from everywhere how hackers are stealing from gullible people so this triggered alarm bells in my head. Has this ever happened any of you?

I am also thinking that at some point the site I am talking about may have been sold by its original owner/creator, or maybe it has changed hands multiple times.

Hi, I recently got both a 2012 macbook pro and 2013 imac that I upgraded to sonoma with oclp. Both worked great but after signing into my apple ID on both and rebooting they don't have graphics acceleration anymore (black dock general sluggishness). Does anyone know why this can happen? Not using memoji or anything.

Also worth noting that this does not happen on my 2015 imac with AMD graphics, so I'm guessing it's something related to nvdia. Tried a pram reset and reinstalling the root patches, but that didn’t fix it.

I have an iMac 11,2 (mid 2010) 21.5" with an Apple (Hitachi) HDD 2TB. I wanted to upgrade it with an SSD Toshiba Q300 500GB. I did upgraded it but it's verry, verry, slow compared with the Apple (Hitachi) HDD, with Trim Support On and Off (tried both ways). Both tested on macOS Big Sur OCLP.

I also changed the SATA cable, but for the moment i did not have one with the guide pin in the same place on the 90 degree plug, so i connected the new SATA cable on ODD SATA port. Right now i have working only one SATA port which is ODD port with SSD pluged in.

I laso tried with the SSD connected thru USB adapter, and even though it's only USB 2.0 it seems faster than SATA connection.

I use Macs Fan Control for HDD temp and fan control.

Why? What is wrong. It's obvious it's something with the firmware/software... or maybe some quirks/patches in OC?

Opencored around 50 Macs at this point so figured I would share some useful tips I picked up along the way. Curious to see if you have any decent tips worth sharing too!

• ALWAYS update the patcher before updating macOS
• Ventura and Sonoma don't like 2GB ram sticks. 2x2 often fails to install, 1x4 often works
• 2011 Macs seem a lot more stable on Ventura than Sonoma (Sonoma often fails to install for me)
• The "disable firmware throttling" options is a good idea for iMacs, especially those with broken or missing screens
• Always reformat the disk in disk utility during the install process. Formatting APFS in say High Sierra then attempting to install Sonoma can fail
• Always install the latest version of macOS natively supported by the Mac first as this can sometimes contain important firmware updates that cause an OC install to fail
• On a cheesegrater pro, you can enable the GOP GPU patch to bypass the no boot screen when using a PC GPU Issue

I just picked up a Studio Display. So far I love it, except I'm having difficulty with the camera. On FaceTime, it's just black and says "No Video. FaceTime has not received any video from the connected camera. Restarting your computer may fix this issue". Restarting, switching TB ports, toggling CenterStage makes no difference. I have a mid-2015 MBP on Monterey and the camera works right away, CenterStage works too. So that's why I'm wondering if it's something with OCLP.

Here's some more info on the hardware:

-Mac Pro 6,1 8-core, D500s on Sonoma 14.4.1
-MBP mid-2015 on Monterey 12.7.4 (non OCLP)
-Apple Studio Display, firmware ver. 17.0 (Build 21A329)
-using OWC TB2 cable with Apple TB2 -> TB3 adapter

Any ideas or similar experiences? Any input appreciated. Thanks!
