Asus Z590M Plus - Opencore 0.7.9 Halt at EB|LOG:EXITBS:START

Just swapped out my motherboard from Gigabyte Z490M Gaming X to Asus Z590M Plus due to NVME issues. After i swapped everything over and set up BIOS settings, drive booted up with no issue. I reset NVRAM for whatever reason and thats when it decided not to boot. I have tried older versions of Opencore, made multiple changes to config.plist (often times starting from scratch) with no luck. This is where it halts (currently on 0.6.9):

Installing big sur on ivybridge/sandybridge

Hello. Was wanting to explain the procedure for how I got big sur to install and connect to the web. First I followed install using clover configurator to change the SMBIOS to say that I have an iMac 19,1 and once I got the installation done I had to tell the setup I didn't have ethernet when I first installed and setup. I then had to boot back into the Catalina hard drive to use the multibeast for Catalina. In the multibeast setup I did not choose the bootloader since its outdated, but I...

How to Prepare for Big Sur

As many people have been running system-definitions - the model of Apple Mac your Hackintosh is emulating - which will no-longer be supported under Big Sur, if you would like to upgrade when the time comes you will need make some changes to your config.plist.

I've been happily running system-definition iMac14,2 for many years but this is an old Mac model which will not be supported going forward with Big Sur. So I need to prepare now.

To get this thread started I'll show you what I...

Log Diagnosis for stalled new build

Hi Everyone,
I'm doing my first fresh build since 2013. I put together a new machine that should last several years until I'm forced to buy a real mac (BOOOO). A ton has changed since I did this so I feel back to square one on my knowledge.
My in-progress build is:
i7 10700 comet lake
Asus Z490 gaming WiFi
32GB DDR4 2400 RAM
Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi card
Samsung 870 500GB SSD for OS install

I am installing Catalina since it still has a Unibeast sidekick to help me along, but I am already stuck...

Asus Z170 Deluxe OpenCore macOS 11 Big Sur

Im starting a Build Thread for my system and I will update with more information as I can put it together.

Im assuming you've already created a macOS USB using the proper avenue (meaning from a Mac using the Mac app store).

The files I am going to attach are the completed build hot patched and including the addition of thunderbolt.

Resources: (Some of the SSDTs in my build have been renamed with Z170D in the DefinitionBlock to match my build but came from a number of different community...

Abhor Apple's New Full Updates Instead of the Smaller Supplemental Updates

One of the reasons why I absolutely abhor Apple's new full updates instead of the previous smaller supplemental ones has been one of time. It is such a waste of time and resources to have to wait for a 12 gig file to download. In my case because of the demand I'm having to wait 13 days just to get to 12.3! It is a real nightmare to update systems this way especially if you are say, an IT department admin or someone busy with work that requires a software update at a moments notice. Smaller...

HDD not showing up during macOS installation

Hello. Let me preface this by saying this is my first attempt and I have googled a lot. - I do not have access to a mac and am running AMD, so that makes it a bit harder.

My usb drive errors with a "boot mismatch" but it still goes onto the MacOS setup screen eventually where I cannot select a disk to install to. So I went into disk utility of the USB macOS installer and non of my drives are showing up. I tried formatting the desired drive with windows because I have no mac, I used diskpart...

Catalina on TUF GAMING B560M-PLUS WIFI

Apologies if this subject has already been addressed. My Goolge-fu has not been able to turn up any substantial results. I recently built a new machine that wasn't initially intended as a Hackintosh (specs below). It was an upgrade to a OBS capture PC running Windows (which works fine naturally). When I realized how much extra "oomph" I could potentially get out of this machine as compare to my Late 2014 Mac Mini (I5-4278U 8GB RAM, with hack to run eGPU on Thunderbolt 2), I though well...

Asus Z9PE-D8_WS 2X Intel Xeon E5-2687w V1 Big Sur

I recently update my old workstation form Catalina to Big Sur from and Clover to OpenCore.
This is the link it helps me.

but I didn't flashed the motherboard with the custom rom, so I have to remove from the ACPI folder:
- SSDT-CPU-OC.aml
- SSDT-CPU.aml
- SSDT-UNC.aml

and I add
- TSCAdjustReset.kext

It did not make a fresh install but an update from Catalina directly.

-The Usb Wifi AC1200 does not works, I tried the Chris1111's...

[SUCCESS] macOS Big Sur ASUS Z490-A, i9-10850K (Comet Lake), OpenCore 0.6.5

So originally this post was to ask for help to get this set up working but now that it is working I figured I would update it for anyone trying to get this same set of hardware up and running. I am going to leave the original post bellow but the attachments on this post are the final files that will work for getting this system up and running.

So first off I would change your BIOs for your mother board. Attached are my final BIOs (full disclosure I have never "overclocked" a CPU so those...

Clone drive boots fine but password doesn't work

Hello everyone.
Just cloned my Mac's system drive (Catalina, SSD) into a larger SSD with Carbon Copy Cloner and,
the clone will boots fine but, my user account password DOES NOT work.
(I can connect via screen sharing but I hit the login window, I can also use the SMB file sharing,
connecting to the computer with the same password but, I just can't actually login and get to the desktop)

A different (non admin) user password DOES work but not the main user (mine).

I have no clue on why this...

Frequent panics related to NVME

I appreciate questions regarding NVME SSDs are common, but I've struggled to find an answer to this particular problem.

My system has been stable since May 2021 (last time I modified the EFI) with frequent uptime over 1 month. However at some point in December it became unstable with the following symptoms:
  • Frequent halts during use, starting with a beachball in all apps and then completely unresponsive to keyboard/mouse/SSH several seconds later
  • Frequent failure to wake from...

[BRICKED] Yosemite setup trying to install Catalina

Hello everyone!

I've been trying for two days now, I'm stuck and need your help. I apologize if this issue has been dealt with elsewhere, in which case please do point me to that thread.

So we were running a Yosemite build, all was good basically, just that a few apps weren't supported so I wanted to upgrade to Catalina.

I didn't get too far though: all I managed to do was update Clover and now I can't get it to boot up properly. During startup, I get a few error messages regarding...
