Internal screen works on Catalina, but not on Big Sur?

Hello, im writing this because i need help with my build. I have working Catalina Hack with internal screen working and with backlight working. I installed on another partition Big Sur, no changes in config.plist and Kexts, ACPI. (OC 074). And when trying to boot Big Sur internal screen goes black when booting. External screen is working, internal screen is recognized in "This Mac", and in ioregistry (apple backlight display).

Funny thing is - when i disable SSDT-PNLF.aml, my internal screen works again, but it is recognized as external, and backlight control doesnt work.

I tried prebuild SSDT-PLNF, i build my own - the same result. Any help is apprieciated"

Specs:

  • IGPU intel hd 4600 desktop
  • internal screen is connected via lvds
  • framebuffer is haswell desktop reccomended (from watevergreen guide)

A decision to make

Hello folks,

I just wanted to ask for your opinions on this matter. I am currently a happy owner of an M1 Macbook Air with 16gb of RAM. Before I nought the M1 Macbook Air, I have built a small form factor AMD build, featuring a Ryzen 3700x and 32gb of RAM. I felt really strange in the part of the Open process of generating S/Ns to use. I have also felt that adding a hackintosh build to my icloud account could potentially jeopardize my account. Nonetheless, I got OSX working on itI intend on doing music production with Logic Pro, and I decided to buy the M1 Macbook Air. The ITX system is currently used for gaming and as an unRaid server. I am going in the direction of Proxmox instead of unRaid in the near future. I swapped my 5700xt with a 3060TI very recently due to the GPU’s virtualization potential and better streaming capabilities/VR.

I have noticed a few quirks here and there on the M1 Macbook Air. I have a Sound Blaster G6 USB-based DAC/soundcard, and it stops working randomly. I noticed the DAC got very warm when that happens. I am being drawn to the Intel side, as I would think that an Intel Hackintosh build could potentially avoid any hiccups, and I would have a secondary system with a higher multi-core performance, as well as better cooling potential.

Do you think at this point in time an Intel ITX build with a 10900K and iGPU-only makes sense at this point in time? Would there be DRM issues or any other issues? I was reading the Opencore guide, and if my understanding is correct, I would not need to do anything extra about the 3060ti, as it is not supported.

Thank you all!

Decided to go to OpenCore and managed to screw things up.

Yesterday my wife had a sweet Hackintosh running Mojave and I decided to switch from the tonymacx Clover solution to an OpenCore Monterey. Specs below:

  • Motherboard: Asus Rog Strix Z370-i
  • CPU: i7 8700K (Coffee Lake)
  • RAM: Corsair CMK32GX4M2A2666C16 Vengeance LPX 32GB
  • Storage: SAMSUNG (MZ-V7E1T0BW) 970 EVO SSD 1TB (two)
  • GPU: Sapphire 11265-01-20G Radeon NITRO+ Rx 580
  • Wifi/BT: Broadcom Bcm94360cs2 Bcm94360cs2ax

I had some initial struggles but finally got the USB to go to the picker and actually launched the Monterey installer. I installed the macOS to the secondary drive as it was already empty and the install started normally. I saw the machine reboot, but could not see fast enough if it rebooted normally or if it panicked. Either way when it rebooted nothing worked, including booting again to the USB...

I rebuilt the USB again and now I am definitely stuck panicking after selecting the installer. I've got to be missing something stupid, but am definitely ready to scorched earth this, reformat the drives, and try again. Any help would be welcome.

Attached are some images I get after selecting the installer. Link is a zip file of my config.plist and the txt from the opencore boot.

Buying a new computer for hacintoshing

So my computer is dead and I will probably never buy a MacBook. So I need a new computer that is affordable and I can hackintosh it with no problems.

I found this computer, Dell Vostro 3501 and it seems good.

Did anyone hackintosh that computer before and if yes then is it good?

macOS Monterey won't install

Can't Boot Updating to OpenCore 0.7.4 from 0.6.6

I am trying to update to OpenCore 0.7.4 so I can upgrade from Big Sur to Monterey but I am unable to get OpenCore to boot from usb in order to test everything is working. I am really at a loss since I can't understand why OpenCore 0.7.4 gets stuck at [EB|LOG:EXITBS:START].

I have tried everything in the trouble shooting section on the OpenCore website but nothing has helped. Everything has worked flawlessly from 0.6.6 and earlier I don't understand why 0.7.4 isn't working at all.

My PC is i7-6700T HD530 integrated graphics and Asus Q170T motherboard.

Anyone have any ideas where to start?
