Please help me to Install IATKOS ML2.....I installed snow leopard worked fine... but the graphics was a big problem , as i am not getting a proper resolution, so i am trying to move on to ML2..so when i initially tried for installation i was getting a panic, so i deleted the drivers and after that... this following command helped me to enter the installation of IATKOS ML2

-v -x -f npci=0x2000... but as soon i enter to installer window, the mouse started flickering ...so i tried with GraphicsEnabler=No and also tried with yes...0x0007 but no of these worked.Tried with PciRoot=0 , tried cpus=1, tried UseKernalCache=No, tried with npci=0x3000, but was getting still the same problem. Any how i managed to install ML2 but it was not booing up properly, so -v -x -f npci=0x2000, worked ...but it is safe boot... mose was still flickering, so wen i pressed the mouse button for 1 second, the mouse ran smoothly for 3 sec... and den again flickering....

10.8.3: Atheros 9287 / AR5B97 - No Hardware Detected #iATKOS #ML2

I am using a Gateway NV57H22u, i3, Realtek sound, with this wifi card.

Atheros 9287 / AR5B97.

I've reinstalled OSX a few times (10.8.3).

I use multibeast to do the easy install, followed by correcting the boot0 issues, followed by moving the Extras from the install to the Extras on the OSX drive, this stops the problems.

Using KextBeast I've installed and manually removed half a dozen sets of kext for Atheros 9287 and edited the plist files in Content\plugins\ in the IO80211Family.kext containers to include pci168c,2e without resolution.

There is no hardware wireless switch and I do see this device when I run the system information pkg.

The wireless continues to say, "No Hardware Detected"

Any ideas or directions to take this?

Thank you

Samsung N150P is it possible to wireless or not? #iATKOS

Hi, well let me tell you what happens.. I´ve been looking everywhere a method to enable the WIFI in my netbook. I´ve seen that people install some kexts to try to enable it (but I don´t know how can I do that) as seen in one post here a guy could make it work by adding this "IONetworkingFamily.kext and VoodooBattery", I looked how to do it, downloaded them and then moved to iPortable/extras/ (that´s were I´ve seen more kexts, but they were alredy there).

It has some other problems that you may know which are the sound card doesn´t work, and also 800x600 display default..

I´ve used the iPortable Snow x86 in an 8gb pendrive to load the system.. And my question is could it be something done to solve these problems?

I don´t know so much of the system so please make it easy for me to understand (also english isn´t my native language more difficulty added jeje)

Regards

Snow Leopard on LG E500 V.APSCG - only iboot works #iATKOS

Hi there,

I have been trying to run my hackintosh without my iBoot disc, but no success.

I followed the instructions and installed Multibeast successfully. (Easy without and with user DSDT file; which I tried to correct).

However, the startup hangs when not starting from the iBoot disc with the message: "Still waiting for root device". (this doesn't happen when booting from iBoot disc).

How can I make it boot from the HDD without iBoot?

Can anyone please assist?

Many thanks upfront and best regards

Xelus

Find enclosed the output from iboot (boot.txt) as well as some other files.

org.chameleon.Boot.txtboot.txt

PS: I have some other issues. I finally found a driver for my Atheros Wifi card which is recognized; however AirPort can't turn it on (it is turned off). Also my App Store is not working ("an unknown error has occured") - but this I guess that I can make work in a second step. Strangly my built in touchpad and keyboard are not always working - however, I can attach an external keyboard and mouse that works well.

Snow Leopard Won't Boot on ASrock mobo #iATKOS

Fairly recently I built a computer with an ASrock Mobo and an Intel Pentium D 3.4 Ghz processor. As for graphics, it is just the onboard 8mb card. There is 2 GB of RAM. So I wanted to run Snow leopard on it, and I have on a netbook before, but when I try to load SN, it just sits there with the apple logo. This happens with Chameleon RC 3 and 1. Chimera and iBoot don't work at all. When I try to boot in verbose mode, it shows a blank screen. If I try legacy bootloader for 10.6, it gives a kernal panic. Does anyone have any ideas?

White screen with Apple Logo after Chimera install #iATKOS #ML2

Dear all,

First of all, thanks for reading this post.

I'm a Hackintosh newbie doing my first Hackintosh config and i have some problems :'(

I installed MacOSX 10.8.3 with Unibeast and after the install, i ran Multibeast and when selecting only "DSDT-FREE", i have a white screen.

So, i've made a new clean install of MacOSX and installed Chimera with Multibeast. On reboot: White Apple logo page with the infinite loop.

I don't know what to do.

I can boot with my USB Key on MacOSX by using -x. I can't boot by using -x on Chimera by booting from my HDD

EDIT: I retried with Multibeast and DSDT Free and here is the -V log:

Here is my config:

Problem with booting in Chameleon - black screen. #AMD

Hi everyone!

I'm fresh user (regards from Poland!). I installed SL on this configuration:

MB: Asus M4A77TD Pro

Phenom II X4 945

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD4800 (GPU RV770)

RAM: 8GB

At this moment I can boot into OSX by Nawcom ModCD with flags:

arch=i386 -force64 maxmem=4096.

When I installed Chameleon (I'm using Chameleon Wizard) system hangs on black screen. There's no kernel panic, no logo, only black screen.

I tried to change version of Chameleon (2189, 2168), but without success.

I used Chameleon flags:

Verbose mode

Ignore boot cache

GUI

32-bit

Force 64bit

Busratio = 20

and on some boot GrahicsEnabler

Where I can find boot lo or something similar?

Can You suggest me something?

Maybe I should try other bootloader (I read about chimera)?

Regards, and thanks in advance for help.

Anyone running ESXi 5.1 on an Xserve? #Hackintosh

Since I found the Unlocker last week, I've been trying to figure out how I want to add an Apple ESXi 5.1 host to my lab. I recently purchased a late 2012 Mac Mini that I'm using as an HTPC and I can't decide if I want to use it as an ESXi host, then getting an older Mini to use as an HTPC. I have the i7 Mini (4 cores) and running a few VMs on it would really allow me to use its power instead of it being idle most of the time. Another option is getting another <$150 Dell server (2 x Xeon L5420 quad cores, already have 2) to use with Unlocker as a dedicated OS X ESXi host. I can't use one of those for OS X now because they're used to study for the VCP exam, which means I have to use vCenter Server. Unlocker doesn't work on hosts added to a vCenter Server. Another option is getting a 2008/2009 Apple Xserve.

I've been doing a ton of Googling this weekend and it seems that there really aren't any major issues running ESXi 5.1 on the 2008 or 2009 Xserve. Apple's RAID card doesn't work but that doesn't matter to me since I'll be using shared storage. I've also read that it runs great on the new Mac Mini but I've found less info on it than the Xserve. At the moment the Mini seems like the more solid option, but adding an Xserve to my home server rack is roughly the same cost of buying an older Mini. Plus having an Xserve in my home rack would be sexy. I'm such a geek. :)

Just wondering if anyone has ESX running on an Xserve and would love to hear details on it and your experience with it. Same goes for those with it on a Mini too. Still weighing the pros/cons of each and I'm torn. Not sure what to do..

ESX 5.1 workstation build for ML VM build. #Hackintosh

Hi - been working on getting an upgrade together for my current workstation. Not having a huge budget and needing as much bang for buck I want to keep as much as possible and replace as little as possible (red goes, green stays):

Asus P5Q Pro Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.83GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB) Processor

OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Platinum Series DDR2

NVidia GeForce 8800 GTX

Samsung 830 128 GB SSD

Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

2 - Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB

2 - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA-II

Lian-Li PC-B25B Aluminium Midi-Tower - Black (No PSU)

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775)

Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVDąRW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Noctua NF-S12 800RPM 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin

Hiper 630W HPU-4M630 SLi Certified PSU

The new hardware that I am so far gravitating towards is as follows:

Supermicro X9SRA

Intel Xeon Processor E5-2620

2 x Kingston ValueRAM - ECC Memory - 16 GB - DIMM

AMD FirePro V4900 Professional Graphics

Supermicro SNK-P0050AP4 - Cooler

I would use a number of VM's for development purposes (using RHEL, Windows Server for work) and then ML as my everyday machine (photo editing with Aperture, web surfing, a little video editing).

With little experience on the VMware ESX side any feedback would be most appreciated; specifically around how to get sound the ALC889 working in ML - would it be possible to do iopath/passthrough with sound ?

I have seen evidence of the V4900 GPU working being passed through to VM from ESX here:

https://docs.google....d1alRUTlE#gid=0

and working in ML here:

http://www.insanelym...00#entry1897975

Finally wireless; I am currently using a Linksys WMP300N - would passthrough be possible here. I suspect not from what I have read plus only two passthroughs are allowed per VM. Otherwise I would be going with this a WUMC710.

Advice would be most appreciated.

GeForce GTX TITAN works in MacPro #Hackintosh

SOURCE

Quote

I have written a special rom for GTX Titan, which allows it to work in OSX 10.7.5 and 10.8.3.

It supports both 32-bit MacPro 1,1/2,1 and 64-bit MacPro 3,1+.

Since it involves several low-level hacks, hackint0sh user won’t be able to get it to work, sorry.

I’ll upload the rom after I fix 5 GT/s issue, so far it runs at 2.5 GT/s.
