High Sierra Lag Help

I have a hackintosh that is running High Sierra. I have an i7 7700k along with a z270 motherboard. I also have a 1080 ti with Nvidia drivers.

Basically, I'll be using safari and I'll have a video on the left side and then I search something on the right side. It'll freeze for a split second and then search and speed up. It's like the video lags, not only that, but I'll see it when I'm doing other things. Any advice on what to do?

I'm running NVIDIA Web Driver: 387.10.10.10.25.158 and macOS 10.13.3 Supplemental Update

Clover not showing without USB

I installed Sierra 10.12.6 on my HD 4000 based laptop. Its working well apart from the audio. But currently I'm trying to get it to boot without the usb.

I followed the vanilla installation guide without unibeast/multibeast. (Rehab's laptop guide on tonymacx86) But clover doesn't appear in the boot menu. In the boot options I see Mac OS X, but it doesn't work and it boots me into Windows.

Just to point out, I have Windows 10 installed (UEFI GPT). I installed Sierra on a separate SSD as UEFI GPT as well.

In the guide, he mentioned two points: select "Install RC scripts on target volume" and/or "Install all RC scripts on all other boot volumes", but not for USB.

Upon searching for a solution someone mentioned that when he used the option to install on all other volumes, clover started showing up in the boot menu. But I'm afraid that it might over write on my current windows boot file if I select that? What does it mean to install "RC scripts on all other volumes", does it mean it will install them on not just the Sierra partition but every other partition on all the drives(two SSDs in my case)?

My other attempt for a solution was to just clone my USB boot drive into a 24gb mini SSD that came in my laptop but even then clover doesn't show up in the boot menu. If I boot using the USB now, I can see that there's a new cloned partition on that SSD. But this didn't solve my problem as well.

What should I do?

Any help is appreciated.

Need some help installing HS. Fairly new so please don't judge.

have already tried following guides like the Vanilla Install guide (https://www.reddit.c..._brief_vanilla/) stickied to the sidebar, as well as looked for help throughout their discord server, but have come across so many errors and not enough help. My specs are as follows:

PC: Lenovo H430

RAM: 6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Graphics: GM-MATRIX-C, 1023MB NVIDIA Geforce GT 610

CPU: Intel Core i3 2130 (Sandy Bridge)

Motherboard: Lenovo Mahobay (Socket 0)

Storage Devices: 465GB Toshiba MK5055GSX (SATA) and 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-9YN162 (SATA)

Audio: High Definition Audio Device, NVIDIA High Definition Audio

I have run into many issues getting help with and setting up the GT 610, as some say they can get it working, but many post/guides I have looked to are very confusing on how they did so. I'm doing this all in a High Sierra VM on Windows so it takes longer than usual sometimes, so please be patient.

I already have my USB with High Sierra ready (made with the "createinstallmedia" command). Any help would be appreciated thanks for your time.

To be more specific, if you would like to know what issues I ran into while following the guide I linked above; I followed just about everything (Disabling all checkboxes in both sections of ACPI in the config.plist Clover provides, using these kexts (https://imgur.com/a/Q31jS), as well as setting up Clover the way the guide tells me for the USB, and still getting no success. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Apple’s design templates have always been the gold standard when it comes to iOS design resources and the obvious go-to when designing for iPhone or iPad. We’re really excited to say that we’ve integrated Apple’s iOS 11 design template into Sketch, and can now offer this invaluable resource as a built-in Library.

The Apple iOS UI library includes everything, from tab bars and status bars to buttons and switches, ready to be inserted into your latest designs. You can download the Apple iOS UI Library from the Libraries tab in Preferences and, when Apple updates their Document, you’ll be notified and can update your designs to the latest version.

Installing El Capitan - Not using custom memory pool?

Hi there,

I'm completely new to the wonderful world of Hackintosh and have been trying to install OS X El Capitan from my bootable USB. I've followed all of the steps in the vanilla guide, tweaked my BIOS, etc, but upon trying to load the installer (in -v mode), I get the message:

AptioMemoryFix(R12): Starting .IABootFiles\boot.efi AMF: Not using custom memory pool - Not Found

My PC then restarts.

Any advice on how to bypass this would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

You Can Now Track Skiing and Snowboarding Activity With the Apple Watch Series 3

Apple has announced that Apple Watch Series 3 owners can now track their skiing and snowboarding activity via new updates to apps on the App Store. Watch users can now record runs, see vertical descent and other stats, and contribute active calorie measurements directly to the Apple Watch Activity app.

Developers are taking advantage of the built-in GPS and altimeter in Apple Watch Series 3 as well as custom workout APIs released in watchOS 4.2 to enable tracking of specialized metrics.

Tripple boot (High Sierra, Windows 10, Arch): multiplatform utilities search.

I've recently set up a tripple boot system with everything working almost perfectly but now i'm on a quest to create similar workflow in terms of system utilities.

I have zero experience with MacOS and struggle to find programs thet: a) let me manage cloud storage, notes, launching files, searching desktop, working with terminal, scripting, managing windows, managing shortcuts. b) working across three systems.

Is there a source of multiplatform applications to test it?

First Hackintosh - Kaby Lake or Coffee Lake?

I am considering altering my pc to a Hackintosh, since I do a lot of work as an assistant editor and would like to be able to read HFS+ natively and transcode ProRes. I have built a few PC's but this would be my first hackintosh and I would like for it to be as simple as possible with few hiccups.

How difficult is Coffee Lake compared to Kaby Lake?

It would be nice to have the increased performance.

R3 2200g for Hackintosh?

Hi friends, wanna build a Ryzentosh however I'm trying to shy away from 1st Gen due to lack of integrated graphics ( hard to troubleshoot etc), so I would think the 2200 would be better. but since it is unproven and has teething problems.. should I then wait for others to do it 1st or stick with the conventional i3 8100 but the boards are pretty expensive as the cheaper h370 and b360 boards have not been released yet. your thoughts?

Should I install or just use virtualbox ?

Hello folks,

Got: i9-7900x, mobo with chipset x299, graphics - gtx 1080, 16gb ram. Should i bother doing clean install on ssd/hdd or just emulate it using vmware/vbox? I want to learn some app dev with swift for ios devices and using osx seems to be the best way to go. As u can see i've got quite powerfull HW so i'm not sure if it is worth installing it instead of just emulating.

Some issues after installing High Sierra

Hi all,

So I have created my first fully working hackintosh High Sierra using the Unibeast/Multibeast way. Almost everything is working, except for a few things:

  • Wifi is not working
  • browser is not smooth at all, lots of stuttering when scrolling and watching video's.
  • Very slow performance after sleep mode
  • Handoff (propably because wifi is not working, but ethernet is working).

Here is a overview of my specs: - CPU: Intel Core i3 6100 - GPU: Nvidia Geforce 1050ti - MB: MSI Z170A PC MATE - Ram: 8GB Corsair Ballistix Sport - Cooler: NZXT X42 - Storage: Samsung Evo 850 (x2) - Bluetooth: (works out of the box with my Magic keyboard and Trackpad 2) - Wifi: TP-LINK WN881ND

Most things like Facetime/iMessage and iCloud worked out of the box without any additional kext needed.

I have tried a 'family' kext for the wifi, but it just won't work at all. Any ideas what to do to fix this, any kext files you'll recommend?

Can upload my config.plist file somewhere so you can look into it? :)

Thanks in advance for all the help!

EFI on startup disk vs that of the USB installer

Hi, I’m currently backing up my installation of Sierra, having finally got all the configs right. Obviously the back up won’t keep the EFI partition which I’ve been meddling with on the startup disk. Can I copy my EFI partition from the startup disk, overwriting the EFI on my usb installer, so if I end up breaking my drive I don’t have to go through all this frustration again, with all relevant info already on my usb? Or is the EFI partition slightly different on the usb installer?

Cheers!

Sierra 1050ti dual monitor

Hi, I've installed successfully Sierra on a Asus P8Z68-V PRO.

I have 2 monitors connected to my MSI 1050 ti, one in DVI, which is recognized, while the other, no matter if I use the HDMI or DP, it just doesn't work.

I'm using the Nvidia web driver (or at least OSX says so, even if I am having rendering problems on Chrome eg. It doesn't show the content of the sign in modal)

I've also tried to set display port numbers and link on config.plist but no luck. I don't have nvdrv 1 set in clover. I added the two kext people are usually suggesting as well but nope.

Any ideas? Thank you!

High Sierra Install: Reboots before loading kernel

Hi.
I'm having difficulty getting the High Sierra installer to run on my laptop, in fact, it doesn't even seem to be loading the kernel.

After turning on every debug option I could find in Clover Configurator I managed to see roughly where everything goes wrong:
https://github.com/Clover-EFI-Bootloader/clover/blob/master/rEFIt_UEFI/Platform/kernel_patcher.c#L1390

Right after that it reboots and continues on loading Windows 10.
I've tried a bunch of config.plist changes and that's as far as I've got, I'm using aptiomemoryfix r15 but it's been more or less the same result.

I followed the vanilla guide and took the coffee lake example plist and did the smbios changes:

Mouse frozen on startup, and appstore challenges

Recently installed Sierra on my PC, however when the login screen comes up, my mouse appears to not be initialised properly as I have to unplug and plug it back in so I can move the cursor. I'm using a corsair m65 rgb mouse. I've also now broken the hack by installing the suggested security updates from the AppStore, the updates install and then I get a kernel panic when it starts up again. Is it wise to just avoid these updates or is there a work around?

My system specs are: GA-Z77X-UD3H mobo i7-3770k cpu GTX 980Ti graphics card

Thanks in advance!

Stuck on boot. [osxaptiofix problem]

Hey, this is my second post, thanks so much to people who have already helped me. I'm installing on an MSI z270, 6600k, no gpu, on ssd. The computer gets stuck on boot randomly from "does printf work?" and when it gets past this first error, it loads for several minutes until the computer restarts. In non-verbose, it makes it to 3/4 through the loading bar under the apple logo. In verbose, it is flooded by a series of errors and warnings.

What I've already tried: *Replacing OsxAptiofix with a free dropbox version i found online (tried using 1 & 2) *Nv_disable=1 *-f in boot *debugging kexts in clover

Pls hmu with any ideas. Thanks

Saurik Says Updates Are Coming in the 'Relatively Near Future', Warns Against Installing His Packages on Electra

Saurik shared new details on his iOS 11-11.1.2 jailbreak and the update of Cydia Substrate in a reddit post today.

The comment follows an issue encountered by Electra jailbreakers who updated to a new APT build recently pushed. Saurik warns not to install any of the packages he pushes if jailbroken with Electra.

FWIW, people using Electra are essentially using a fork of everything I've ever done that was put together by coolstar with no thought to how it would affect anything else I'm working on or will be releasing, either in the near future or in the distant future; so, if you have installed Electra, I would strongly recommend never installing any of the packages I push going forward: I have done no testing with Electra nor do I have any interest at all in spending time I don't really have to try to figure out how to maintain compatibility with Electra. I mean, I didn't even realize how insanely forked he was until I was told to check out this post by Optimo: this is kind of egregious, as he decided to release a package with the same name as one of mine and he even gave it the version number I would use for my next update?! If he is going to be trying to play the game "my packages are a fundamental upgrade to saurik's packages and will replace them going forward" he should have at least bumped the version epoch, not just bumped the maintainer version (the final part after the hyphen), and I can imagine even more drastic things that might have been even better solutions (maybe involving pinning, maybe involving architectures... there is a lot of nuance).
