iATKOS v1.0i Help & Tips

You go to boot into Mac, and it shows the apple logo & the spinning thing, but it reboots after a while??
Solution 1)
Try booting with:
cpus=1

Solution 2)
Dont install any of your drivers that you chose in customize (if u installed any).

Solution 3)
Make sure you install Darwin Boot properly

Solution 4)
Make sure you check EFI, in the EFI Emulation folder, in customize.

You recieve an error message saying:
System config file '/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found
Solution 1)
Try booting with:

You go to start up your computer and u get a white flashing line on the top left of your screen??

  • Then boot from it, choose Auto-matic settings,  and then it will open the partition console.
  • Right click on your mac partition, then go to 'manage flags'.
  • Make sure you check ' Boot', and then click ok, then restart your computer.
  • To restart your computer, close partition console window, then double click on the red shutdown button.

Solution 4)
When you go to choose a name for the Mac OS X Leopard partition, only make it one word. E.g:
MacLeopard          NOT     Mac Leopard
Basically no spaces at all, just words and letters (not any symbols, e.g: '#~?/><[]{})(*&^%$£"!)

You recieve an error message saying:
ERROR: FIREWIRE UNABLE TO DETERMINE SECURITY MODE; DEFAULTING TO FULL-SECURE

If can hear dvd drive still running, just leave it for a while, and hopefully it will continue.

Solution 2)
On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and type in '-x -v platform=X86PC', and click enter.

After the installation, you restart and go to boot into mac, and it shows the apple boot screen, but a grey screen overlaps it, and asks you to restart your computer??Solution 1)
On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and type in '-x', and click enter. Then once its booted up, reboot and boot normally to see if it has fixed the problem.

Darwin Boot is not in the Utilities drop-down menu??

You have the wrong version of iATKOS v1.0i. You most probably have the v1.0i R2, R3 or even v2.0i. Make sure you look for a 2.09GB zip file named 'iATKOS v1.0i' there should be a 2.44GB ISO image file in there.

Where can i download drivers for my computer??

Visit kexts.com and search for your drivers.

Disk Utility doesnt show my Hard drive, or my Partitions??
Someone called Jade Skaggs has found a solution for me. I dont know if it works but he says it worked for him, so just follow this. His name sounds like a girls name, but he aint a girl, he's a boy!. I made this mistake lol.
Solution 1)
Try switching the ATA operation mode in the BIOS menu (This may cause other partitions to be non-bootable)
This worked for Jade Skaggs, but he had it set on AHCI, so he switched it to ATA.
Also if u have the option, try switching it to IDE.

You go to start up your computer and you get 'B0 error' ??

You go to start up your computer and you get 'HFS+ partition error' ??

When you go to format your Hard drive, make sure you choose Master Boot Record.

    Cannot  boot from the iATKOS DVD ??
    Solution 1)
    On the countdown screen, just click enter.

    Solution 2)
    On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and type in '-v', and click enter.

    Solution 3)
    On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and click the escape button.

    Solution 4)
    On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and type in '-x', and click enter.

    On the countdown screen,press 'F8', and type in '-f', and click enter.
