frustrated with oclp

I have had so many issues since downloading and using oclp from the "stuck on login screen issue" to several others. I now have an issue where I get to my login screen and it let's me type a bit of my password before going black freezing and then going black and then back to the login screen. It's a vicious loop. I've spent more hours trying to troubleshoot opencore than I have actually using my computer it seems. does anyone have any idea what I can do? I'm frustrated and am kind of a noob at this. Thank you in advance.

Upgrading 2012 MacBook Pro

I’m looking to upgrade the os to Ventura or higher for a mid 2012 MacBook Pro. I’ve watched a YouTube video on using open core legacy patcher. The part where I’m unsure of is… can I install the new os onto an existing ssd without having to completely wipe out/format the drive? I have a large amount of files on the drive that I’d like to keep and don’t have an external drive to transfer to.

If yes, are you able to give me instructions on how to do that. Thanks!!!

Unity Isn't Working After Update on 14.6.1

I'm using a Macbook Pro 2015 and installed 14.6.1 through OpenCore Legacy Patcher, but now my Unity hub isn't able to open any project, I have tried reinstalling Unity hub and installing new Unity 2020 but this doesn't help as well
Whenever I open any project it starts loading after loading unity crashes or doesn't proceed..
Any Solution?

Hackintosh Guide: Installing macOS on HP DY1024WM with Ice Lake i3-1005G1

To create a Hackintosh with your HP DY1024WM (which features an Ice Lake i3-1005G1 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 117GB storage), here's a step-by-step guide.

1. Prepare Your Hardware

Ensure you have the following:
- USB flash drive (at least 16GB).
- Internet access for downloading necessary files.
- A secondary computer (Windows or Mac) to create the macOS installer.

2. Download macOS
You can download macOS versions like Big Sur, Monterey, or Ventura. You'll need a macOS installer from the Mac App Store or elsewhere.

3. Create Bootable USB
On a Mac or a VM running macOS:
- Insert the USB drive.
- Use `Disk Utility` to format it as `Mac OS Extended (Journaled)` and set the scheme to `GUID Partition Map`.
- Open `Terminal` and use the `createinstallmedia` command. For example, for macOS Monterey:
```bash
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Monterey.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume
```

4. Download OpenCore or Clover Bootloader
For Ice Lake systems like yours, OpenCore is highly recommended due to better support and documentation. Download the latest version from the [OpenCore Github page](https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg).

5. Configure OpenCore
- Extract OpenCore files and navigate to the `EFI` folder.
- Copy the EFI folder to your USB drive.
- Now, it’s time to configure the `config.plist` file.

6. Configure config.plist for Ice Lake
You’ll need to configure the `config.plist` for your HP laptop. Key considerations:
- **ACPI Patches:** Ice Lake systems typically need custom ACPI patches.
- **Kernel Patches:** Ensure the `config.plist` includes patches for Ice Lake support.
- **Graphics:** You may need to enable `AAPL,ig-platform-id` for Intel's integrated graphics. For Ice Lake, the ID is often `00009B3E`.
- **USB Mapping:** Use a tool like `Hackintool` to create a custom USB map.
- **SMBIOS:** Use an SMBIOS profile for a similar Mac, such as a MacBookPro16,2.

7. Install macOS
1. Insert the USB drive into your HP DY1024WM.
2. Boot from the USB by pressing the appropriate key (F9 for HP).
3. Select the USB drive from the OpenCore boot menu.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install macOS to your internal drive.

8. Post-Installation
Once macOS is installed:
- Mount the EFI partition of your internal drive.
- Copy the EFI folder from the USB to the EFI partition.
- Reboot your system and select your macOS drive from the OpenCore boot menu.

9. Fix Audio, Wi-Fi, and Other Issues
- **Audio:** Install the correct kext (e.g., `AppleALC`) for your audio chip.
- **Wi-Fi:** Most likely, the built-in Wi-Fi won’t work. You’ll need a supported dongle or replace the card with a compatible one.
- **Power Management:** Use `SSDT` patches specific to your CPU for optimal power management.

Final Thoughts:
You'll need to tailor the `config.plist` further depending on your exact hardware setup. Use tools like `ProperTree` for editing the `config.plist` and follow Ice Lake-specific guides available on forums like InsanelyMac or Reddit.

Let me know if you need specific config.plist settings for your machine!

Reverted Root Patched and no screen now

So after several frustrating nights of trying to use OCLP to get Sonoma on my 12,1 iMac I finally succeeded this afternoon. I changed the graphics card to a wx4150 and it read as an AMD Polaris. I reverted root patches to then reapply them for my updated wifi/bluetooth card but now my screen is black. I will note it also didn’t have the backlight working at all post Graphics card upgrade but I was able to work through that. Is there anyway for me to apply the root patches like through the boot menu or do I literally need to uninstall and reinstall everything all over again. Please help!

Any idea what this error might be?

Any idea what this error might be?

Hey got a thinkpad t480s currently running Ventura with no issue. I wanted to try and run sequoia and see if I could have working wifi/bluetooth with my Apple Card on it using the tool (can’t remember name right now).

It boots no issues to Ventura for about 4-5 months now I believe. I made a separate partition and downloaded the installer. Installed to that partition and then hit restart. Tried to boot efi from my usb (which works with Ventura) and it goes and then restarts everytime I somewhat got a screen shot as I have to record a video it goes so fast. Ideas for me?
