Apple Intentionally Removed  3D Touch Multitasking Feature From iOS 11

Apple intentionally removed the 3D Touch Multitasking feature from iOS 11, according to a Radar shared by Bryan Irace.

"Apple engineering has confirmed that 3D Touch multitasking was intentionally removed in iOS 11. I am livid."

If you weren't aware, the 3D Touch multitasking feature lets you press on the left side of the display to easily bring up the app switcher. A press and swipe will quickly take you to your last open app.

Panic on Clover?

When I try to boot MacOS Sierra through clover, I get a panic error and reboot, even if I have safe mode and/or "don't reboot on panic" enabled. Can anyone help? Here's a picture of the error. http://imgur.com/ejbcttu

Weak GTX 1060 6gb Performance

So I just completed my build with an i5 6500 and an ASRock 1060. Everything but iMessage works great. I noticed though when firing up a few games that performance was maybe about half of what I would hope to see even coming from Linux, as in the case of Civ6.

Should I just accept this as the norm?

Once every 5 minutes my optical drive makes a starting sound which is really weird. It does it in Hackintosh only and also does it in Mac in VMware. It doesn't do it in windows..

Removal of Built-In YouTube App From iPhone Was Google's Decision

Hunter Walk, former YouTube product lead, reveals that the removal of the built-in YouTube app with the launch of iOS 6 was Google's decision, not Apple's.

In a series of Tweets, Walk gives us some history on the agreement between the two companies and why Google decided to end Apple's license. The decision was a controversial one even within the YouTube team. At the time, many users believed it was Apple's call.

Apple approached YouTube abt being default app on 1st iPhone. Making it happen ensured the "YouTube of mobile" was YouTube itself....

Weird sound?

So basically it's sounds as if something is touching the fan and it does it for a couple seconds. It does it once maybe every ten minutes. Here's the weird thing, it only does it in Mac. In fact not really even Hackintosh, it does it inside Mac in VMware as well. It never does it in windows. It's a very odd noise I can't tell if it's the fan or hard drive or what it's hard to describe

Two 1TB Drives or One 2TB drive ?

I want to run a MacOS Sierra/Windows 10 Dual Boot system (Windows for Gaming and Mac for Art and Animation) and Im going to use a single 240GB SSD partitioned in half to boot both of them but for storage what would be better? Two 1TB Drives (One for each OS) or One 2TB drive (Partitioned in half)

The Apple A10X is Built on TSMC's 10 FF Process [Images]

The Apple A10X found in the new iPad Pro is built on TSMC's 10 FF process, confirms Tech Insights.

The A10X die size comes in at 96.4 mm2 as compared to the previous generation, A9X at 143.9 mm2, which was built on TSMC’s 16 FF-Turbo technology. This is an impressive full node scale, when accounting for the extra CPU cores built into the A10X and extra IP blocks of the A10 vs. A9 family. We estimate a 45% die level scale (0.55x the area of running on the previous technology), based on our detailed floorplan analyses of the Apple A-series.

The GPU of the A10X appears to the be same customized Imagination PowerVR cores seen found in the A10. Tech Insights notes that at an IP-block level the GPU takes 49% of the area (0.51x).

Clover won't go past this - Plz help!

"OsxAptioFix2DRV: Starting overrides for /system/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here is my EFI https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2HzkEXnY7mtenV3cHYyUlpfVnc/view?usp=sharing

Machine's specs: Asus 270-p Intel 7700k Kaby Lake I7 Nvidia GTX 1050 16GB of DDR4 memory

I've been working on Hackintosh's for a week, but I run into this error sooooo much. I can't figure it out since it doesn't show me any specific issue.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Tried to get iMessages working again, ended up having my account locked/password change forced, so that was nice....

I had my iMessages working on my Hackintosh (Sierra) until quite recently when they appeared to have stopped and Messages app would only be able to send as Text Messages (and even those wouldn't seemingly go through....). So I followed this guide to try and get Messages working again, and although every step seemed successful, upon rebooting and trying to log into iCloud I was told my account had been locked due to suspicious login activity and I needed to get sent a code via SMS and use it to reset my password yadda yadda...

Very annoying as I'm one of those people who really resents forced password changes so that I'll have trouble logging in for weeks now due to forgetting my password...!

Anyway, I reluctantly changed my password and re-gained access to my iCloud account, but now Messages is in the same position it was before all this happened, except now I have a new password which I will likely forget in about 8 hours....!! :-/

Anybody have any idea where I could go from here? Do I just try repeating that guide again???

Samsung Plans to Build World's Largest OLED Plant

Samsung is planning to build the world's largest OLED plant with 30% more production capacity that its A3 plant, reports ETNews. The company is hoping to snatch up demand before other companies gain the technical skills required to make OLED displays.

According to industries on the 28th, Samsung Display has started constructing 6th generation flexible OLED production line called ‘A5 (tentative name)’, which has production capacity of 180,000 panels per month and up to 270,000 panels per month, at its new sites in Cheonan and Asan. It notified such plan to some of its main front-end process equipment manufacturers and is mediating with them regarding schedule for supply and demand of equipment.

“Although size of entire investment and schedule can chance since Samsung Display did not exchange any LOI (Letter of Intent), we can guess its intention to construct a new plant and size of investment from the fact that it shared its investment plans with its major front-end process equipment manufacturers.”

Alleged iPhone 8 Prototype With Larger Bezels Leaked [Photos]

An alleged iPhone 8 prototype with larger bezels has been leaked via Benjamin Geskin.

The prototype was disguised with an overlay to make it look like a current generation device. Once the overlay is removed we can see the actual design. Although there is no home button, the bezels at the top and bottom are significantly larger than the edge-to-edge bezels seen on previous leaks.

“iPhone 8 Prototype, Inside tip” This ugly design, again? Hmm..

VooodooHDA Prefpane issue 10.12.5

USB issues on new Hackintosh build (and small boot issue)

Hey All,

I decided to repurpose my FreeNAS into a Hackintosh box. It has:

  • Gigabyte Z170-HD3P motherboard

  • i3 6100 CPU

  • 32GB DDR4

  • 1x 256GB Crucial SSD

  • 4x 2TB Seagate HDD

  • Intel HD 530 Graphics

After messing around I was able to get 10.12.5 working with the 530 running on my 4k Samsung display over HDMI, no problem.

The issues I'm seeing are:

  • My USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard simply don't work.

  • My USB 3.1 port doesn;t work well either, if my keyboard is plugged into it there is tremendous lag

  • My USB 3.0 ports work, but there seems to still be mouse lag

Is there a catch to getting USB working properly? I seem to remember USB being the easiest component to get working (ever since way back in the OS X Tiger days when hackintosh first became a thing).

For reference, I'm using the iMac 17,1 system definition, and Realtek ethernet kext and audio kext. That's about it.

Second small issue that I don't care too much about is that when I turn all my 2TB drives into a RAID array via the macOS Raid Assistant I lose the ability to actually boot my system. While I'm not touching my boot drive at all, Clover freaks out and just reboots my machine. My only solution was to go into the BIOS and disable the SATA ports for those 2TB drives.

Has anyone managed to get clover to not shit the bed when software raid is being used within macOS on drives unrelated to boot?

Cheers for any help!

I'm trying to use a Ryzen 7 1700 for an Hackintosh

Plz tell me what is wrong with my Plist

System. Asus 270-p Intel 7700k Kaby Lake I7 Nvidia GTX 1050

I can't get sound or nvidia web drivers working properly =( This is the only PList I can get working, but I know it's probably not perfect. Ideas?

I'm starting to give up hope =( I can sometimes successfully install, but then after booting and setting up clover when I boot from HD I get

"OsxAptioFix2DRV: Starting overrides for /system/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Then it just stops. That's all I get.

Plist below.

https://jpst.it/10FQL

Honestly, if someone could just look this over, or even just give me the efi I need I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!!!

Unibeast VS clover

So I have been into Hackintosh's for a about a week now, learning a ton - really enjoying the process.

Started with clover, realized multibeast isn't all that useful, started using clover configurator, etc.

My question is, should I just be manually creating my clover disks based upon each machine's needs? seems like unibeast is sort of a catch all - includes everything you might need sort of thing?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

NVidia web drivers won't enable in Sierra

So I have a GTX 1050, and I installed the latest web drivers, however, in the top right of the screen when I click on the NVIDIA logo it shows that I still have "OS X DEFAULT GRAPHICS DRIVER" selected, instead of "NVIDIA WEB DRIVER".

I have enabled nvda_drv=1 and have checked Inject System ID and Nvidia web under system parameters.

What am I missing? When I try to change it to Nvidia web drivers in the top right, it tells me to restart, but then when I do it doesn't actually change them.

Thanks!!!
