Boot up always stuck after Root Patches

Boot up always stuck after Root Patches

So this seems to be a common problem. I recently updated my mid-2012 MBP to Monterey and got it all working fine. When the OpenCore app asked me to install the root patches the first time, I did and everything was fine. Then I wanted to install the latest Monterey security update via System Settings. I decided to run Root Patch installer again and this message came up (see pic). Then the laptop got stuck on boot up. I went through the steps here: https://Dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/TROUBLESHOOTING.html#stuck-on-boot-after-root-patching

…for what to do when this happens (go to terminal in Recovery mode and clean the ‚offending kexts.‘)

Laptop starts up now but I keep getting this message to install the root patches. I tried again and had to repeat the whole annoying process. Also, the laptop seems to be running slower now. I still haven’t installed the latest security update.

How can I get this message to stop appearing, or better, how can I install the root patches without it preventing my laptop from starting up??

Thank you all!
