  8. Check for Background Processes

    • Use Activity Monitor to identify and quit any background processes consuming excessive CPU or memory.
  9. Monitor System Temperature

    • Ensure the MacBook Pro is not overheating, which can lead to performance issues.
    • Use third-party tools to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures.
  10. Consider Reinstallation

    • If performance issues persist, consider reinstalling macOS Sonoma from scratch.
    • Backup important data before performing a clean installation.
  11. Seek Professional Assistance

    • If performance issues persist despite troubleshooting efforts, consider seeking assistance from an authorized Apple service provider.
  12. Community Support

    • Reach out to online communities and forums for additional troubleshooting tips and support from other users experiencing similar issues.

Remember to backup your important data before making any significant changes to your system.

Sonoma running slow on 2015 MBP

Seen posts of older macs running it fine but I can barely open Settings without a long wait. There shouldn’t be any obvious reason why normal processes take so long. Any ideas on how to smooth things out?
