I tried the InsanelyMac fix for Library/Extensions. It only fixes audio for the HDMI output, and I'm unable to detect the Analog (Speaker) output or the Line In (Mic) input. I don't use HDMI output :(
How do I know if AppleALC should work for my system? Does it depend only on the audio card, or are there a bunch of other factors? I'm using Intel WildCat PTLP controller, based on ALC233 with layout-id 33 and it worked perfect on Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina.
Specs:
Lenovo B50-80
Core i3-5005U, 2 GHZ, 2 Cores, 4 Threads
Intel HD 5500, 1536 MB
12GB DDR3
Realtek RTL8111
Intel Dual-Band Wireless
Intel Wildcat-Point LP sound controller, based on ALC23
1 TB SATA HDD, 7200 RPM
Big Sur 11.3
Any more info needed, I can provide.
What I've tried:
- Using the InsanelyMac VoodooHDA.kext fix, copying to /L/E (only HDMI is detected)
- Using AppleALC with different layout-id, no output/input detected
- Using the YouTube channel SoyLucas' audio fix for OpenCore, no audio detected
Is there any way I can find out whether AppleALC should work on my system? Or will I have to purchase bluetooth speakers/USB speakers? Hoping to find a .kext based solution. Can fiddle with configs and plists if needed.
