One rig to rule them all

One rig to rule them all

A few nights of endless sleep finally paid off.

  • System=OpenCore 0.6.1 & High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G66)
  • =Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Auros M
  • =Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x
  • =GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1080
  • =Network: Realtek GbE
  • =Sound: Realtek ALC892
  • =RAM: OLOy 32GB=PSU: EVGA 750 N1, 750W
  • =Bluetooth:Avantree DG40S USB Bluetooth Adapter
  • =Storage: PNY 256 SSD, Seagate 3TB HDD / 1TB exFAT formatted to share documents between Ubuntu/W10

What took TLC to get working

  • =Workaround to get nvidia web drivers for high sierra version 17g66
  • -Disable SIP through system recovery: restart into apple recovery, open terminal, and enter: csrutil disable
  • -Exit recovery and reboot normally. Open a terminal and enter the following command which will install nvidia webdrivers.
  • bash <(curl -s https://vulgo.github.io/webdriver) 387.10.10.10.40.113

=Could only get audio to work with VirtualSMC and VoodooHDA kexts.

=Fixed Photoshop launch issue by deleting the following files:/Applications/Adobe\ Photoshop\ 2020/Adobe\ Photoshop\ 2020.app/Contents/PlugIns/Required/Extensions/MMXCore.plugin/Contents/MacOS/MMXCore

/Applications/Adobe\ Photoshop\ 2020/Adobe\ Photoshop\ 2020.app/Contents/PlugIns/Required/Extensions/FastCore.plugin/Contents/MacOS/FastCore

What doesn't work: CPU/GPU thermal sensors, but I haven't tried getting it to work either.
