DSDT on Ivy Bridge OpenCore

I am in the midst of an upgrade install of Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina on an Ivy Bridge prebuilt Lenovo. In my clover Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave days I didn’t have anything in my DSDT folder.

The OpenCore guide said something about needing to drop DSDT tables from Windows or Linux.

I have already booted and installed Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina. I need to grab a copy of Linux to do this.

I’m just wondering if this is necessary, since I didn’t have any DSDT files in the past. If so, why is it necessary now vs. when I was using clover?
