Hey y'all, I have a 2015 macbook pro that is not up to par with my power requirements as of late and instead of upgrading to a new MBP because of the keyboard issues and lack of ports I want to try the hackintosh route.
I know that compatibility is a slippery slope (at least from a couple years ago when I was first considering it) so I'll do research on what components I can use. My questions are software related:
1) I use Xcode and Visual Studio Code for development on my machine, will there be an issue doing development on a hackintosh or publishing apps to the app store?
2) I want to do video/photo editing with Lightroom and final cut. Will there be a problem installing software from the app store or adobe?
3) Aside from OS updates, is there any risk in updating software apps like lightroom or Xcode?
4) Can I transfer my current macbook's data via time machine to a hackintosh? If not, what would be the best way to get my data over to the new machine?
