Black screen with custom EDID after updating to Mojave 10.14.5

My hack (Gigabyte z370n, i5-8400, UHD-630) was running fine when I decided its time to install 10.14.5. After performing the update i was (or was not) greeted with a black screen after boot (after 60% progress when GPUs acceleration usually starts to take effect).

It seems related to EDID injection via the AAPL00,override-no-connect device property i've set in clover as stated on the WhateverGreen manual: https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.IntelHD.en.md#edid

The BSOD disappears and video works fine once I remove EDID injection via this property.

I extracted my monitor's EDID and inject it using this property to keep HDMI audio alive after sleep/wake cycles while the monitor is disconnected (I am using an HDMI switch). I read everything and tried everything but this was the only way to keep HDMI Audio working after sleep/wake cycles without attached monitor. If I don't force the EDID this way, the entire HDMI audio device simply disappears until the machine is being rebooted.

Everything worked fine on 10.14.4. video and HDMI audio continued to work after sleep/wake periods over more than 8 days before I decided to update.
