Normal upgrade from Ventura to Sequoia or bootable drive?

I have Ventura running nicely on my mid-2015 macbook pro, and I'm being prompted to upgrade to Sequioa. AI (depending on which one I ask) gives me conflicting advice, the one says that it's possible to upgrade normally through settings/updates, and then re-apply the patch, the second says that I need to create a bootable drive of Sequoia with OpenCore and do it the same way I installed Ventura. Please advise any real people out there, thanks!
