Hey everybody! I have an old 2017 MBA i7 8GB RAM/256 GB SSD lying around that I am considering trying to breathe some new life into. It is physically in excellent condition and very lightly used, as I now have an M1 Air. I have experience with OCLP putting Big Sur on an old 2014 iMac, but I thought Big Sur made that machine feel slower than before, so I reverted it back to stock. And it still feels super slow compared to my M1 Air (big surprise), so I never use it lol.
So, my question is simply whether anyone has tested boot times, load times, etc on a similar age Broadwell MBA or MBP to see if Sequoia actually improves performance, or if I'm better off just leaving it on Monterey. This machine would mainly just be used for running a web browser, so nothing really intensive, but I would like the peace of mind of an updated OS, as there's a chance it could be used by one of my employees for business purposes occasionally. Thanks!!
