Issues/Bugs (and some remedies) when updating a 2010-12 MacPro 5,1 from native Mojave install to OCLP Monterey install (on new SSD drive), with latest OCLP 2.2.0:
- Airplay to HomePod Mini broke, the HPM no longer appearing in the Sound dropdown list of outputs or in the sound preferences. Common issue, apparently. Booting back into the Mojave OS, the HPM is again available.
- Lost internal wifi. Sometimes networks show up in the drop down list, often not, but can't be connected to there even when they do.
- Existing version of iMovie on Mojave will not run on Monterey, and can not be updated in the App Store, having never been part of any purchase. I cannot find an installer or version of the app anywhere online. Would seems a simple thing to find, but no luck at all.
- ScanSnap Manager for old but still perfectly working Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M is not compatible with Monterey, and I can no longer find online the last installer that apparently would be.
- iTunes does not work with Monterey, and Apple Music is supposed to be able to convert the .itl database for use with AM, but it does not. Just a spinning ball.
Remedies/workarounds:
- Wifi: Bought a very fast wifi dongle which works well (but did not help with Airplay to HPM).
- Airplay to HPM. The HPM was still not showing in the sound dropdown list even with wifi enabled with new dongle, so sought 3rd party apps. Tried AirParrot, which saw the HPM, but would not play any audio even when connected. Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil did both, saw the HPM and sent audio successfully to it. Nice application, has a sync delay offset, $35 to buy (not subscribe). Worth it.
- Looking for a Monterey compatible version of iMovie.
- ExactScan works with the scanner, and supports duplex scanning, but I'd still like to find the last version of SSM.
- iTunes to AM conversion: Apparently, Catalina will update the .itl file successfully for use with AM, which then Monterey could open, but I skipped over that OS, and am hoping not to have create an entire OCLP install of it just to convert a single database.
