Hey guys, I'm completely new to the Hackintosh community.
I'm thinking about building a Hackintosh for my mom, as her 2009 Mac Pro she's using professionally for graphic design work is slowly giving up.
I'm looking for some tips and part recommendations.
Seeing how she's been getting a lot of years out of all her tech, I don't think a new Mac would be good.
With her Mac Pro she could just put in a new graphics card, good luck trying that with a Mac Studio. :)
Also, I think I would have a lot of fun building one, so I don't mind the extra effort.
One catch: she needs dual boot with snow leopard and any reasonably new OSX Version.
I don't know how much more difficult this would make the setup process. I have dabbled with Linux before, So I have *some* OS Tinkering / Unix experience, but not much.
I want to make it extra hard on me by using the small form factor Fractal Design Terra case, as I really like the aesthetic and it would fit in perfectly in her office.
Now, I've been thinking of some first Ideas for specs. The Programs she uses are really CPU and Ram dependent, external gpu is a nice to have, but doesn't have to be too expensive, so this is what I've got so far:
Thanks!
