I bought an 2014 iMac, hardware specs were 16gb of ram with a 1tb hard drive. 1 month later the drive failed. Purchased a new 1tb ssd and installed, performed the recovery and it defaulted to the maverick OS. Attempted to update through apple only to find they no longer supported it.
Found open core legacy and followed the instructions to a T. Created a copy of a boot installer on a USB using my MacBook Air. Simple, easy, great instructions.
The problem begins here. When I EFI boot I should have three options, boot the installed OS which is maverick, install Sanoma, which I do but i believe I should have a third option that should show two stacked hard drives, which is missing. When trying to boot from the install Sanoma, I get the contact apple support. This has been racking my brain for weeks and I’m finally giving up.
