Guide:
If you're experiencing issues with not receiving OTA (Over-The-Air) updates on your Hackintosh running Sonoma 14.2.1 or older versions, follow these troubleshooting steps to address the issue:
Check System Compatibility: Ensure that your Hackintosh hardware is fully compatible with the version of macOS you're running. Unsupported or incompatible hardware may prevent OTA updates from being received.
Verify Internet Connection: Make sure your Hackintosh has a stable and reliable internet connection. OTA updates require a working internet connection to download and install updates from Apple's servers.
Reset Software Update Settings: Sometimes, resetting the software update settings can resolve issues with not receiving OTA updates. Go to System Preferences > Software Update, and click on "Reset All Settings." Then, check for updates again.
Check System Preferences: Open System Preferences on your Hackintosh and navigate to Software Update. Ensure that the "Automatically keep my Mac up to date" option is checked. This ensures that your system automatically checks for updates in the background.
Check for Updates Manually: If automatic updates are not working, manually check for updates by going to System Preferences > Software Update and clicking on "Check Now." This forces your system to search for available updates.
Verify System Integrity: Ensure that your system is running smoothly and there are no underlying issues that may be preventing updates. Run disk utility to check and repair any disk errors, and run system diagnostics to identify any hardware issues.
Update via macOS Installer: If OTA updates still do not work, consider downloading the latest macOS installer from the App Store or Apple's website and performing a manual update. Backup your data before proceeding with a manual update.
Consult Hackintosh Community: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider seeking assistance from the Hackintosh community forums or Discord channels. Other users may have encountered similar issues and can provide additional insights or solutions.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to address the issue of not receiving OTA updates on your Hackintosh running Sonoma 14.2.1 or older versions.
what is happening??? I'm still stuck at Sonoma 14.2.1 for so long, and I just noticed that I'm actually stuck in an old version
I have to post my specs I think, but it doesn't matter
I have an unsupported Skylake laptop CPU, i5 6300U, spoofed to Coffee Lake for the iGPU to work
I feel like this is the main issue, I did something wrong, since I started using Sonoma on 14.2.1 and never received an update
and if I can remember, the same thing happened when I was in Ventura, I started using it directly on 13.6 or 13.7, so I didnt pay attention
