Fixing High CPU Usage on NootRX with MacOS Ventura

Guide:

If you're experiencing high CPU usage on NootRX with MacOS Ventura, particularly when the GPU is underutilized, follow these steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check GPU Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest GPU drivers installed for your graphics card. Sometimes outdated or incompatible drivers can cause the GPU to be underutilized.

2. Configure Graphics Settings:

  • Access the graphics settings in MacOS Ventura and configure them to prioritize GPU usage over CPU for rendering tasks. You may need to adjust settings related to graphics acceleration or hardware acceleration in system preferences or specific applications.

3. Update Applications:

  • Ensure that all applications, including NootRX, are up to date. Sometimes software updates include performance optimizations that can help alleviate high CPU usage.

4. Verify GPU Utilization:

  • Use monitoring tools or utilities to verify the utilization of your GPU. This can help confirm whether the GPU is indeed underutilized and identify any potential issues.

5. Disable CPU-Intensive Features:

  • If possible, disable any CPU-intensive features or processes in NootRX or other applications that may be causing the spikes in CPU usage. This could include background tasks, unnecessary animations, or resource-heavy plugins.

6. Reset Graphics Preferences:

  • Resetting graphics preferences in MacOS Ventura or specific applications can sometimes resolve performance issues related to GPU utilization. This can often be done through system preferences or application settings.

7. Consult with Developers:

  • Reach out to the developers of NootRX or any other affected applications to inquire about potential optimizations or settings adjustments that can improve GPU utilization and reduce CPU usage.

8. Hardware Considerations:

  • If the issue persists and is significantly impacting your workflow, consider upgrading your hardware, such as the GPU, to a more powerful and compatible model that is better suited for MacOS Ventura.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the high CPU usage on NootRX with MacOS Ventura and optimize GPU utilization for improved performance.

Updated this post since I wasn't on my pc last time I made it. Everything works fine except that it's underutilising my GPU and only using my CPU for rendering (I'm assuming), any way to fix/force it to only use my GPU?? Things get very laggy whenever the cpu usage spikes up especially when I'm dragging the window size or its rendering a lot on a webpage.
