with that being said .. My system in short is amd ry75600g with xfx swft 210 rx6600xt / 32gb ddr4 on am4 b550 wifi+ with 1tb nvme sloted ssd and standard cooler with processor. nothing special but not weak by any means..
I started the above project when I was having trouble with my apple devices and their batteries failing here recently and it's been three days so far and in one like "VBoxManage setextradata "mac OS Monterey" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 1" i changed the value of 1 to 0 in one instance and even removed it when the screen stuck and nothing has changed.
I am still waiting for the screen to boot and have left it as long as an hour before shutting it down... moved it to 8 cpu to 1cpu and no luck.
I followed this guide in the linked video to get it going. i even cross referenced 4 other videos and they all said the same thing..
I am on windows 11 home if that makes a difference...
I even broke down and have tried 5 different iso's i've found across the web to do this with... I don't know what i'm doing wrong,
I don't know what sources may or may not be safe and if i'm basically downloading the equivelent of the password protected empty torrent with impossible password on it etc.. (no i didn't download this guys iso though, went through several google searches until i found a set of links that kept going back to the same site..)
one other thing I want to note is this.. I know I am way too new or noob to even try something and expect it to be so simple. Things were much easier trying to install linux into a virtual machine.. so whatever you guys do to get this stuff to work, you are masters compared to linux setup..
I just need some form of guidance in the right direction because i don't know what syntax to google to lookup the correct shzz or anything. I am confounded and lost as to why my system won't post and hangs at the last part in that video.. it's killlllling me.. and i can't afford to keep buying apple products.. or else I wouldn't even worry about this... heck, I'd setup the virtual machine on a mac at work and then transfer to usb if i could get away with it and bring it home and try that.. but they won't let me due to obvious security reasons... i mean, is there not any premade machines? i just wanna get this thing out into the water and afloat... then learn more..
