Messages and FaceTime suddenly working

I booted up my 11.6 hack which didn’t have working Apple services for the first time in a while and I got a notification on my phone that a new Mac was using my ID for iMessage. I turn around, and Facetime and iMessage were just plain working.

How does this even happen out of nowhere? I distinctly remember going through the agony of generating valid serials and resetting my attempts just for it to still yell at me. I have an iPhone on 14.2 and an M1 Air running Monterey Beta 12.1. Oddly enough, handoff, airdrop, and universal clipboard all work between my phone and my hack, but not my phone and my real Mac. I know it probably just needs to be logged in again, but still. I’d include other information, but I’m not sure what would be relevant here. Could anybody explain this?

(I know it's a Monterey wallpaper, it's still running Big Sur)
