SSD not being recognized in mac OS at all

I successfully completed a hackintosh build around June of last year and all was going well. After 6 months of not booting up the computer, I tried booting it up again yesterday and got the prohibitory symbol and gibberish. I tried for about 4-5 hours to fix it, but nothing worked, so I've decided on a fresh install. Now there's a new problem: for some reason, the SSD on which I'm trying to install Mac OS just isn't recognized by Mac OS at all. I've tried re-formatting it into every which format and I've tried it in Windows and in Linux (Manjaro recognized it and I was able to mess around with it in gParted). I've got an extra HDD, but I really want to have it installed on the SSD. The SSD is a PNY CS900 500GB from Amazon.

Anybody have any ideas?
