Hi guys
I'm trying to undervolt my laptop
Here are the specs
Dell Inspiron 5559
I3 6100u
Bios version 1.9.0
Recently unlocked
Cfg lock and increase dmvt from 32 to 64
I used modGRUBShell.efi
i found out that setting Overclocking lock to 0x00 can help me undervolt the cpu
by default it was set to 0x01i used modGRUBShell.efi to set it to 0x00
i used this command setup_var_3 0x182 0x00
when i check the lock after reboot it shows 0x01
i used this command to check in modGRUBShell.efi setup_var_3 0x0182
here are some before and after screenshots
screenshot 1
i used setup_var_3 0x182 0x00
to set overclocking lock to 0x00 from 0x01
screenshot 2
checking the offset value of Overclocking lock after reboot
used this command to check the offset value
setup_var_3 0x0182
it was back to default 0x01 instead of 0x00
why its not saving changes
i also have extracted firmware happy to share
i used this as ref. for finding the offset for overclocking lock in my bios firmware
