Big Sur on old system?

Hi everyone,

I've got a pretty old system which I'm planning to use for learning game development using OpenGL. I'll be using my MacBook for main development and the old system to test the programs on network (between 2 macOS).

The specs for the system are :

Processor : i3-3210 Ivy bridge

iGPU : Intel HD 2500 (aware this won't work)

dGPU : GT 710 / 720 (searching for used one)

RAM : 4 GB DDR3

Motherboard : Intel DH61HO

Audio : Realtek ALC662

Ethernet : Realtek RTL8111E

The specs are pretty old, but I hope that some of the hardware mentioned can be of any use. I'm aware OpenGL is deprecated since Mojave, but I'm just gonna use it for academic purpose.

I've went through the OpenCore guide and have seen there is support for GT 710 / 720 in Catalina / Big Sur. Currently searching for cheap used one.

So what do do you think, is it possible to install macOS on this system? If yes, should I try with Big Sur or start with previous macOS version?

Thanks in advance :)
