Hello guys, i am new to community. Go easy on me, please :)
I have Success fully installed Big Sur (11.3.1 20E241) on my Ryzen build. Everything went as expected, i was surprised how easy it was to set up. Experience of using this system is smooth, with few exceptions that i want to clarify, as i am not sure if they are usual for OS X or there is something wrong with my configuration.
Just after i perform some disk operation like moving files from one drive to another, my bluetooth audio stops for like few miliseconds, it happens sometimes and i dont even ran out of resources like ram, cpu or drive utilization.. It is very irritating. It also happens once opening some applications.
I am using Samsung 980 PRO drives, brand new. I tested them in every way and they seem to be fine. My bluetooth receiver is Asus BT400 which is natively supported in OS X, there is no way for interference or signal issues.
My second issue is random "beach ball" lag. For example if i want to check Safari history in taskbar (History > Earlier today / Wednesday etc.), my cursor changes to beach ball and i need to wait like 4 or 5 seconds to see the actual history. Also resizing windows in Safari is not as smooth as i expected. I think it was much smoother on my sister's old Macbook Air.
Other heavy applications which uses hardware acceleration works like a charm tho.
Third thing is the boot time duration. I have the latest OpenCore and optimised it for fastest boot (Debug/logging disabled, etc.), however it still takes like 1min+ to go from power button to login screen. Is there any possibility to decrease the boot time? Or i should just use sleep instead as this is typical for BSD?
My rig:
AMD Ryzen 3900x
32GB DDR4 3600Mhz
MSI X570-A PRO
RADEON RX570 4GB
SAMSUNG 980 PRO 512GB
Kexts that i am using:
Lilu.kext
RealtekRTL8111.kext
RestrictEvents.kext
VirtualSMC.kext
WhateverGreen.kext
AMDRyzenCPUPowerManagement.kext
SMCAMDProcessor.kext
Thank you in advance.
