Sound Issue with OpenCore and HP Elite 8300

Sound Issue with OpenCore and HP Elite 8300

I have an HP Elite 6300, that has been running High Sierra (clover) for a long while. Over the holidays, I decided to update to Catalina and chose OpenCore (0.6.4). I read the install guides/information several times, and took my time. Everything went smoothly, with the exception of the sound. No matter what, I cannot get it to work. I have tried the post install info here https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/audio.html. I have ensured that all three kexts are there, and correct. I have tried Layout 11 as well as 15. I found an issue where Sniki had the same problem, and was able to resolve it with "a hack" as he called it. Here is the thread https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/422, but it referenced this model, having the same issue. Here is the result of that thread, it was basically to delay the loading of the kexts, so that it would work properly. This did not work for me.

highlighted area is what was added.

This was a fresh install, on a new hard drive. all kexts etc were downloaded from links from GitHub in the install guide. I have not patched anything(other than config.plist), as I am not comfortable in that area.

I have seen some recommendations about SSDTTime, and custom aml, but then I also see OpenCore say you shouldn't do that, so I have not, until I make sure whatever I am trying to do is safe/correct.

System Specs:

HP Elite 6300 > i7 3770, 24gb Ram, Radeon Rx560 lp 4gb, Broadcom(fenvi) Wireless/bt.

All of the USB ports, video, bt, etc all seem to be working. iServices are working. The only thing not, is the sound. I have a work around (BT headphones) right now, but it's not ideal.

If anyone has ideas/thoughts, or could help, that would be excellent.

Thank you,
