Hey guys. This is a weird issue that's been a problem since I switched from high Sierra on a GTX 1080 to Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina on a 5700XT. Playing dota 2 with vulkan enabled runs great until about an hour into gameplay. Then it goes to a black screen, no sound, can't get back to desktop which I resolve by powering off the whole system. If I change the settings in dota to use open-gl instead of vulkan, no crashes. This doesn't happen on a real Mac. I did a completely vanilla fresh install with Big Sur using the iMac pro 1,1 (was using 19,1 with Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-catalina-on-supported-pc.html'>Catalina) smbios and have the same issue.
Any idea what's causing this? Don't see anything too helpful in console but I don't know what I'm looking for.
