Looking for help with choosing a GPU for my first build

I plan to put together my first hackintosh soon using an ASUS B460 motherboard with an i5-10600, but I can't decide on the GPU.

I originally planned to take the RX 5500, but AMD recently introduced its new line of video cards.

Now I am thinking to wait for their release, since their code was noticed in the Big Sur beta, and besides, old video cards will probably become cheaper by this time.

Also my friend has a spare Asus Radeon HD 7950, and as far as I know it's supported in Catalina, so I'm going to use it for a while.

So I have a couple of questions

  1. Will I have trouble setting up OpenCore and Catalina with the old HD 7950?

  2. Does it make sense to wait for release of a new GPU line and their support coming in Mac OS? I don’t think Apple will completely abandon computers with discrete graphics anytime soon.

  3. Maybe I should just wait for the price drop and take something from the 5000 line? Considering that I want to get a more or less capable gaming machine.
