Possible to switch to Opencore on different SSD without overwriting existing Clover Setup?

hi sorry if this question has been asked. Ive searched everywhere it most of the guides etc appear to be fresh installs which overwrite any mention of clover.

My current setup works fine but i need to install Catalina and was thinking of switching to Opencore as the bootloader

I have a working clover setup "SSD1" - with Vanilla Clover & Sierra on Haswell 4790K & GeForce GTX 760

I want to add another drive "SSD2" - with Opencore, Catalina on Haswell 4790K & GeForce GTX 760

Ideally i want to install Catalina & Opencore on SSD2 while still having the option to boot into SSD1 if needed ( some apps only work in sierra so i dont want to get rid of this OS yet ).

I know i have to change the primary boot drive in BIOS for new SSD2 but is there anything else "special" i need to do or can i just install Opencore vanilla in "SSD2" efi then boot from that SSD2?

My main concern is with having multiple bootloaders on multiple EFIs..

is that is there a way to be able to use OpenCore and choose SSD1 or SSD2(with clover efi) at boot time without explicitly changing startup disk in BIOS?

not sure if im thinking about this in the right way.

Thanks for any help or feedback!
