I'm new to Hackintosh and desperately need to use macOS, What should I know?

Hey, I just wanted to catch some info about what are the stuff I need to know in order to install Catalina on my device. I'm a student and would love to use this operational system, as it would save me up a lot of time and would be more compatible with my devices. Any advice or anything I should know would be really appreciated. But for what I have some doubts, here are some of my questions:

  1. I have a lot of stuff already on my computer and can't buy an external hard drive, would I be able to do separate my hard drive in two pieces for windows and macOS?
  2. What apps should I use? (I don't have a macOS, but I have a VM, so is that enough to 'write' (?) the stuff I need to put into the USB ?)
  3. Can I do the installation without formatting my HD? I've googled if I could "divide" my HD so that it would be seen as external storage (once again, I really lack the proper knowledge and terminology necessary, and while I really need to do this asap, I don't mind having to learn it, I just don't even know where to start)

This is all for now. Thanks for any help!
