Help!

My husband wants to build me a computer (good man) I don’t like windows. I’m picky. But I can’t stomach spending the money on a Mac because I’m a mom and my money is for my children more than anything (I’m that mom). So he wants to build me a desktop and run macOS because he knows that’s what I prefer. Can someone help guide us?
