Catalina ugrade from Mojave issue

I (foolishly) attempted to upgrade directly from Mojave to Catalina using the App Store. When the download finished, system attempted to reboot. System shows error messages and is not booting anymore.I was running the current version of Mojave and upgraded to the current version of Catalina as of May 15, 2020.

Someone suggested that I change a bios settings, did so but still having the issue.

Suggestion:

(Serial ports (SuperIO) should be disabled in the BIOS settings.)

I am currently seeing the following error message when trying to load the system.
