Hey everyone - trying to get a consensus on whether or not you MUST have a value for “platform-id” and “AAPL,ig-platform-id” when using a dedicated GPU such as the one listed in the title. In my config it doesn’t seem to matter if I have values for those or if they even exist and my rig works fine for Catalina 10.15.5 with said card. Troubleshooting my external install of Big Sur, I arrive at a line in verbose:
IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0
And hang.
On my Catalina install, my daily driver, this line above is the last line I see and then I am placed on my desktop - all is well. Yet I hang with Sur. I did some reading about the issue pertaining to issues with platform-Id and graphics and such, but was wondering if this is most likely the case?? Do I actually need values for these 2 variables if I am using my dedicated card or do they pertain to iGPU only? Thanks
