First Hackintosh for Audio Production

First Hackintosh for Audio Production

Hey Guys,

I am about to build my first Hackintosh for Audio Production. I was originally considering doing an AMD 3700x build, but after looking at many threads here, I decided that Intel would probably be the smarter choice. I currently use a 2011 MBP which i upgraded to 16gig of Ram, installed a Samsung SSD and added an extra HD for samples instead of the CD drive. I don't remember ever maxing out the ram but the CPU is definitely a major bottleneck.

My DAW of choice is Ableton Live and I don't use a ton of Kontakt libraries, mostly soft synths and VSTS. I am also not looking to video edit or use this machine for much other than music. I'd like to keep this build around US$1500 but can go as high as 2k if I absolutely have to.

If you could give me your thoughts on this build in terms of bang for buck and compatibility, that would be most appreciated. Many thanks in advance :)

*The graphics card, case and power supply were chosen based on what was available at the store, so I am very open to other options.
