Trash emptying very slowly

I’ve had this problem since first making my Hackintosh with macOS 10.14.3. I’ve upgraded to every version since, and am now on 10.15.1, and it’s still happening.

When I delete a large file that’s on my APFS-formatted boot nvme ssd (anything more than about 10GB), the “emptying the trash” dialogue box comes up, and the whole computer slows to a crawl. It can take several minutes to finish deleting, after which my Hackintosh immediately returns to full speed. The time it takes to empty the trash seems directly related to how many GB I’m deleting. So deleting 100GB takes much longer than 10GB.

The problem does not occur when deleting files from my internal sata hard drives. I can delete hundreds of GB from there in less than a second.

I built the Hackintosh using the vanilla clover guide on this subreddit. I have checked the guide recently to make sure I’m still following all the recommended settings.

Specs:
Asus Maximus X Code.
9900k.
Asus Strix Vega 64.
Samsung 970 evo.

Kexts:
AirportBrcmFixup.
BrcmPatchRam.
IntelMausiEthernet.
Lilu.
USBInjectAll (with ACPI patch I built following the guide on here).
VirtualSMC.
WhateverGreen.

For system definition, I used iMac 18,3 previously, and now I’m using iMac 19,1.

Everything else works absolutely perfectly. Never had a single problem with the machine, apart from this.

If someone wants to see my EFI, please advise me how best to share it with you. Thanks!
