Sorry to keep spamming the sub, but the question has morphed slightly and there was no way to address that in the title of my last post.
For reference, this is what I'm trying to do: Transition a vanilla Sierra Nvidia hack to being a Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave AMD hack [original question here].
I was advised to basically default back to integrated graphics, do the Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave upgrade, then install the AMD card. I started that process, but ran into trouble getting the IGPU to work, as explained here.
As the end of that post (the update) asks, I'm now wondering if there's any reason why I need the intermediary IGPU step at all. Why not just do the upgrade with the Nvidia card installed, but without the web drivers? The screen will look terrible, but will still be usable.
Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave won't just explode if it sees a GPU it doesn't have drivers for, right? There are no drivers for my GTX 1080 under Sierra, either, until I install the web drivers, which I already have to do after every security patch.
Is there any reason why I even need the IGPU to work?
Thanks in advance.
