Hi.
Just a few days ago, I built my first Hackintosh and everything except for sleep/wake was working smoothly, including FaceTime and iMessage. While fiddling around trying to make sleep/wake work, I noticed that Messages stopped working and everytime I tried opening them, I would get the Messages quit unexpectedly error message.
The strange part is, that I still receive notifications about new iMessages (or SMS) in the top right corner notification area. FaceTime also works flawlessly as far as I can tell.
This leads me to believe that it isn't a problem with my SMBIOS settings, but somehow the app itself has gotten corrupted.
I tried everything I could find, including:
- everything in this guide
- clearing the NVRAM
- restoring the EFI partition to a state before I started tinkering with the sleep/wake
- making a duplicate of the Messages app and trying to run that instead
This is the error report I can generate from the Messages quit unexpectedly window:
Does anyone have any idea what might be the issue and how to fix it?
And just as a cherry on top, the sleep/wake still doesn't work (I get a KP everytime I try to wake the computer from sleep), so if anyone has any advice for that, feel free to share.
Thanks a lot.
