I have a Gigabyte ga-z270p-d3 board with realtek ALC887. I previously had it working but I'd occasionally get beachballs. I upgraded to an AMD GPU, got an M2 drive and a new CPU so I decided it would be a good time to reinstall and this time vanilla Mojave 10.14.5 rather than what I did before which was throw enough shit at the wall and hope something sticks.
All reinstalled and all working except audio. I am following all of the guides on placing AppleHDA.kext in my kexts folder along with lilu.kext. I had set the HDAS to HDEF patch in clover configurator. I have checked ResetHDA and set my layout ID to 2 (which is what worked in my previous install). Any ideas much appreciated
