I’m very stuck installing a dual boot on an Acer Laptop, and could use some advice

Okay, I will preface this by saying that (A) this is my first time doing anything like this, and (B) I’m not overly technical.

I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop model #: AN515-53-55G9

I’m trying to dual boot OSX High Sierra, and I have hit a hard roadblock. So far:

• I’ve created a bootable flash drive. I know it works because I loaded HS on a virtual machine.
• I’ve set up the partition for OSX and formatted it according to the Hackintosh.com guide.
• I go to select the bootable drive, and I get this

The loading wheel appears, spins twice, and then another spinning wheel appears on top of it. This repeats over and over until it stops completely.

I’ve combed through the installation instructions and cannot find any kind of solution for this. Can anyone provide some advice? No idea where to go from here.
