Creating an installation USB from Mojave .iso

Some time ago when I was trying to make a Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave virtual machine, I used a Mac computer from my work to download the Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave installer app, captured it into an .iso, took it home and went through the processes to install the virtual machine, which worked fine. My only issue is that the virtual machine is a bit slow for my purposes (XCode app development), so I wanted to transition to an actual Hackintosh using one of my old PCs. To be fair, I don't know the exact specifications of this PC - but it's something like a 3rd gen i7, 24gb of RAM, 1TB HDD. Fairly basic, but should be much better than a VM.

The only problem is the only installation files for Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave I have now is the .iso that I captured. The Mac I downloaded the Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave installation .app from originally has since updated itself to Success' href='/2020/12/install-macos-mojave-on-supported-pc.html'>Mojave, so I don't know of any way to get the installer .app again to follow most of the procedures outlined in other guides (that utilise the .app, MBR patch, things like that). I did try to enable the beta program on the Mac, but that still doesn't let me download the installer .app again - it just adds beta updates to the system update (in settings).

Alas, I tried my best to use the .iso that I have. I used diskutil to convert it to an .img, and flashed it onto a USB imaged as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). After imaging, I installed Clover onto the USB, and added a bunch of kexts people recommended and said were required into EFI/Clover/kexts/Other (or something like that - the "Other" kexts folder). After doing all of this, I assumed my USB was prepped and ready. I put the USB into my system, tried to boot into it, and all I get is a black screen with a flashing white caret. It takes no keyboard input, and does nothing - I need to reboot the system to continue.

I assume I've done something wrong during setup, or perhaps it's because I'm using the .img flash, I'm not sure. If anyone has any tips or ideas of what I'm doing wrong, that would be greatly appreciated.
