i7-8700k z370n WIFI - diskimage Kernelbacked Panic Error

Hi Everyone,

I've been working on this Hackintosh for a while and have tried various things but seem to come to this error almost every time. I'm totally at a loss of what to do and what else to try. It's almost like I'm missing a Kext or something?

Backtrace/Kernel Extension errors i'm getting are:

  • com.apple.driver.DiskImage.KernelBacked
    • Dependency: com.apple.driver.DiskImages
    • Dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOStorageFamily
  • com.appledriver.DiskImages.UDIFDiskImage
    • Dependency: com.apple.driver.DiskImages.KernelBackend
    • Dependency: com.apple.driver.DiskImages
    • Dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOStorageFamily

Current Build:

Installation methodology:

I've tried using the EFI from this post:

KEXT tried to use:

  • FakeSMC/VirtualSMC - same error

Other additional configurations:

Config.plist changes:

  1. ACPI -> Fixes > FixShutdown
  2. find: 83FB0F0F 838F0400 00
    replace: 83FB0F90 90909090 90

Other things I've tried:

  • Booting windows 7
    • Worked when booting a live USB, but seems like the USB 3.0 ports don't work for the keyboard.
    • Got to the install screen but then again, keyboard didn't work.
  • Installing onto SSD drive and plugging into SATA port
    • Same error in the image
