Consistent boot with/without slide=0?

I have a 5820K/980 Ti/X99 Deluxe Hackintosh going. It's been up for a couple days of real use, and it's really great. It feels like the Mac mini I had when I was a kid, but it never slows down, and chews through everything I can throw at it. I love it to death.

I just run in to the issue often where depending on the reset, I boot or error with the same flags - dart=0, npci=0x2000, slide=0, and -v. All of the other flags work regardless, but I've both errored out and had to retry AND successfully booted with or without slide=0. It's totally fine, I'm just wondering if there's any way to not have to baby this computer through the boot process. Everything else has been roses, but I wish I could leave it alone to do it's thing while I go get a muffin in the morning, instead of having to keep an eye on it.

I'm booting 12.13.3, and my smbios is the very vanilla iMac14,2.
