First Time Hackintoshing (ThinkPad X230)

I've never made a hackintosh before and I need a little bit of help getting started. I purchased a laptop that I've heard has good OS X compatibility, which is an X230 (basically an X220 with better graphics hardware and different keyboard). Under Windows, when I run msinfo32 it says that the system model is 2325OR5.

Other specs:

-Core i5 3320M (2.6GHz)

-Intel 4000 graphics only

-BIOS/EFI version 2.70 (updated a few weeks ago)

-EC version 1.14

-12 GB of RAM (8GBx1 and 4GBx1, not sure if it makes a difference)

I also have a real 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch to prepare installation media and such on. I've already downloaded the update bundle of Mavericks from the AppStore there and I've got the Mavericks base system restored onto a USB flash drive, which I have confirmed boots on the real Mac.

But on the real Mac, I already have Mavericks installed and there's nothing I care about on the disk. Could I just pull that disk from the Mac, stick it in the ThinkPad, and then install the Clover bootloader there to save some time? I'm also confused about all of the patching that relates to serial numbers and the EFI and stuff. I've heard that I need to do that to get iMessage and FaceTime working, but I don't even use those since hardly anyone I know has Apple stuff. Can I skip over a lot of this stuff then? And for the drivers that come as kext files, what do I do with those? Is it a drag and drop thing like I've been told by some, or do they have to be loaded in with the bootloader? I'm incredibly confused by this stuff, after using GRUB for so long. I've also noticed that on real Macs a lot of the file system is hidden away in Finder, and it's difficult to navigate through as a result. I'm also not worried about WLAN, since I can just pull the card from the real Mac and install it on the free slot in the X230 and it should work.

Real Mac is an 8,1 model according to system report under OS X. It won't tell me the exact CPU model, but it says 2.4GHz and Intel 3000 graphics.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
